Do-it-yourself repair of the vaz 21213 seat

In detail: do-it-yourself repair of the vaz 21213 seat from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.

The standard seats on the field 2121 and 21214 do not differ in comfort for both tall and short people. When riding them often numb legs and back even on short trips. One of the few advantages is that they "correctly" fold to seat passengers in the second row, while moving away to the windshield.

It is the most logical decision to replace with foreign-made interior parts taken from analysis. Since for quite reasonable money (about 3,000 - 5,000 rubles, depending on the condition) there is a chance to get a product with a good residual resource, as well as such a set of improvements as:
• Developed lateral support;
• Adjustable backwater;
• Electric heating and folding;
• Elevator in height;
• Upholstery material such as velor, Alcantara, leatherette and good quality genuine leather.

What kind of seats are suitable for a field without significant alterations?

Only their own. It is impossible to find such a copy from a foreign car that would fit into its native seats without modernization. However, it is advisable to choose from the total mass of cars similar in layout to the VAZ 4x4. In particular, three-door coupes are worth considering. Their seats will allow rear passengers to get inside without any problems..

• Mitsubishi Pajero II short version;
• BMW 3 Coupe;
• Suzuki Escudo;
• Mazda 3;
• Mazda 626;
• Toyota Corolla Levin;
• Opel Omega 3;
• Smart fortwo, etc.
However, experience shows that such seats are built queue for 1-2 months... Alternatively, they resort to foreign cars with four doors, leaving the back as it is or modifying it on their own.
They are looking for a replacement for the back row mainly among the front seats. For example, an interesting option is obtained when they are transplanted. with Smart.

Video (click to play).

Installation methods are selected individually in each specific case. So, in addition to the dimensions of the seat itself, what matters are: the location of the sled (support), the growth of the rider, the habit of being located high or low relative to the level of the glazing. In this case, some problems can be created by a standard steering wheel of a large diameter, touching the driver's knees.

• angle grinder;
• Drill;
• Welding machine (you can do without it);
• Corner 60x60;
• Profiled pipe 30x30;
• Metal sheet 4 mm, cut into squares (for welding amplifiers);
• Key for 13;
• Bolts М8х14 and cage nuts to them.
Previously, the salon is freed from the old seats using a wrench. This removes the floor covering and sound insulation, if any.
When starting the marking in place relative to the central tunnel, door cards, the upper part of the rack, the ceiling, they additionally take into account the disrupted alignment of the steering wheel in the Niva - by about 5 cm.

After that, the frame is assembled with pre-installed mortgages, welding or screwing to the power elements of the body (using corners) in such a way that the standard amplifier is below the seat lodgment.

Then the direct installation of seats on a VAZ from a foreign car.

We recommend that you look at the detailed installation instructions with photos and descriptions at the link:

Hello everyone! My name is Mikhail, now I'll tell you a story about how I managed to exchange a dvenashka for a 2010 Camry. It all started with the fact that I was wildly annoyed by the breakdowns of the two, like nothing serious broke down, but the little things, damn it, so many things that really started to enrage. Here the idea was born that it was time to change the car to a foreign car. The choice fell on the tayet Camry of the tenths.

The reason for the repair is chattering. We disassemble the headrest, and found that steel slides heavily on steel, and there are no more gaps to tighten the clamps harder. We insert I into the clamps of the copper strip.

The head restraints were rusted, making them so difficult to pull out.We clean and lubricate.
The lower fixing slots on the headrest struts are straight. Rounding off the bottom grooves will make the head restraints easier to remove.

Assembling the back and head restraint in the reverse order. This completes the repair of the VAZ seats, it remains only to install it back into the car.

Brothers, tell me what is the name of the long crap that the hero picks up at 3:40 minutes of the video? One thread broke off. You have to search the shops, but I don’t know how to ask. Is it for sale at all?

Image - DIY repair of the vaz 21213 seat

An acquaintance of mine bought an ordinary smooth rod for vosmeroshnie seats, and came out for 40 rubles. Cut to size and cut threads on both sides.

Thank you. I will look. But, I am plagued by vague doubts that this garbage is not sold separately from the chair. Long live the domestic auto industry, damn it. In which the concepts of "patriotism" and "idiocy" merge. It looks like we'll have to farm.

This is the pivot for the seat adjustment lever. Only I understood it this way in the old seats. On the new ones, I have not seen this, only two bolts. In any case, it is so in the catalog.

You are certainly a fine fellow that you restored on your own.
but your video is not very informative. what I welded as I did, etc.

+ KuperVid Vid Greetings. To begin with, a person who is faced with a seat breakdown, watching the video, understands that repairs can be done with their own hands without experience in this matter. Well, something like this.

Image - DIY repair of the vaz 21213 seat

Dude, when I put the back of the seat back in place after lowering, on one side the hook (which holds the seat) snaps into place, and on the other it doesn't. Because of what this could be?

I collected it in the same way as I took it apart, it was necessary to change the covers

Image - DIY repair of the vaz 21213 seat

I don't have the same problem

Image - DIY repair of the vaz 21213 seat

Is the backrest adjustable with a twist? I'm just trying to find out everything on my VAZ 2120 from what the seats are. It seems to be from the cornfield, but it seems to be from 2110.

+ Anton Tretyakov Yes with a twist. The lever on the 7-ke overturns.

It's good when there is welding. You can do a lot yourself without contacting the service and without spending money.

Image - DIY repair of the vaz 21213 seat

That's for sure. The welding machine is an irreplaceable thing in the household.

Hey! For a long time you were gone, finally a new video came out. I watch it with pleasure! All to the point.

I have an old "love" with the seats. Kmk is worth zamorochitsya this question and make the "right" saddle for yourself. And the back will say “thank you!”.

When I was repairing it on my 214th, I did not have any welding. Used bolts, clamps and plywood.

Front seat sled: 1 - slider; 2 - handle of the seat movement mechanism; 3 - lever of the lower link of the backrest tilt adjustment mechanism; 4 - spring of movement of the seat; 5 - latch; 6 - latch axis; 7 - limiter; 8 - retainer; 9 - roller; 10 - guide slide

REMOVING THE FRONT SEAT

The front seats are mounted on skids, the rails of which are attached to brackets on the floor of the body. The right and left seat assemblies are not interchangeable.

Pushing the seat back all the way, ...

… With the “8” head, unscrew the two bolts of the front fastening of the seat sled to the body.

Moving the seat forward as far as it will go with the same tool.

... we unscrew the two bolts of the rear fastening of the seat sled to the body.

We take out the seat assembly with a slide.

FOR RIDING RUNNING

... use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screw for the front fastening of the slide to the seat frame ...

... and the screw for the rear sled attachment.

Remove the slide assembly with the slider.

We assemble and install the seat in reverse order. Before installing the front seats, lubricate the slide rails with any type of grease.

REMOVING THE REAR SEAT

Removing the rear seat on cars before 2009 and after are different.

The rear seat is removed when replacing it, as well as for access to the fuel module, when removing the fuel tank or upholstery.

On cars before 2009

Pulling back the plastic upholstery, ...

… With the "13" head, unscrew the two bolts securing the right hinge of the rear seat to the body.

If you often need to remove the rear seat while driving, make small vertical cuts in the plastic upholstery.

By bending the formed valve, you will always have convenient access to the cushion hinge bolts without removing the upholstery.

Similarly, unscrew the two bolts securing the left hinge. Having released the seat back locks, we raise the seat and remove it from the opening of the tailgate.

On cars after 2009

Using the "13" head, unscrew the two bolts securing the hinges of the rear seat cushion to the cross member of the body.

... and remove the rear seat cushion.

Fold back the seatback hinge cover. (fold the backrest in front of this if it is more convenient for you)

Using a key or a “13” head, unscrew the two bolts that secure the right and left hinges of the seat back to the body.

Pressing the latches, disconnect the seat back from the seat belt buckles.

... and remove the rear seat back.

Install the rear seat in reverse order.

When buying a car, most car owners want to use it for many years, but certain parts of the cars are subject to wear and tear in the first place. For example, most often the driver's seat wears out. If you need seat repair, then contact our workshop and our specialists will help you as soon as possible. You also have the opportunity to take advantage of a special discount.

  • with natural wear of the seat upholstery. During intensive use of the vehicle, the seat upholstery is wiped regardless of what material it was made of: velor, natural or artificial leather, or any other;
  • if the seat upholstery is damaged during vehicle operation. A very common problem that owners of personal vehicles turn to auto repair shops are traces of cigarettes, animal claws and other mechanical damage on the seats;

Ease of driving a car is largely determined by the correct seat adjustment. DIY Niva 21213 seat repair. However, this procedure becomes impossible if the chair frame is broken. Frame repair is a technologically complex process that requires knowledge and the availability of special tools. It consists of several stages:

  • Dismantling the seat from the passenger compartment and disassembling it. Prior to this, the specialist disconnects the wires of the airbag, heating, electronic adjusting mechanisms, and also removes the front stopper. Then the trim and plastic parts are removed from the seat, after which the master proceeds to identify the area of the breakdown.
  • Direct repair. It consists in welding the frame, grinding the seam and straightening the frame structure.
  • Checking the seat for operability and its final assembly.

Took the seats from the shipping company. You need to install.

The cost of delivery was a little upsetting, I thought it would be cheaper - the weight with the container turned out to be 72 kg.

The driver got up with an offset relative to the steering wheel axis and the pedal bridle by 3 cm, somehow not comfortable to drive. I will redo it - move it to the tunnel end-to-end. Maybe you will have to cut the casing of the tunnel a little, otherwise it swelled up from vibra and noise. And so, the impressions of the seats are excellent - you sit like a glove: your back does not slip when cornering, your legs fit tightly to the seat and do not hang in the air, as before, all thanks to the height adjustment. The span in centimeters was not measured, but it felt completely lowered - as if on a puzoterka; fully raised - you support the steering wheel with your feet and you will not get out.

Process and results in the photo.

Welded the front mount.

Welded the front mount.

Prepared rear sled mountings.

Prepared rear sled mountings.

I welded additional fasteners to the front frame to fasten it with 4 bolts to the native frame (the passenger one is screwed into two, I think to finish it).

I bought it for cleaning the seats, otherwise it came a little dusty

painted and screwed on the front frame.

The seats are installed. But ahead of the driver's alteration to move closer to the center.

Did the fitting of the rear ones - the bottom will rise normally, without grandiose alterations. But you will have to tinker with the back. I really want it to add up to 40/60.

trimming the left rear mount

cut the front mount and welded on the bolts

before in place can be screwed on

It remains to make a screen from the right side and sheathe it with a carpet.

I will add only one thing - there was nothing difficult in the installation, there was no cut to weld there and everything is ready.

This morning I had the following trouble: the back of the driver's seat broke, I have to ride like on a stool.

Prehistory: the day before yesterday, the right side of the back became worse to hold, I did nothing, I decided to wait until the weekend. Before that, there was a problem: after reclining the backrest of the seat forward, it did not return well, something stuck on the right side.

This morning I decided to rectify the situation, threw the seat back, climbed back and with a little effort straightened the back of the seat (before that, the right side was farther than the left). Then he sat down and drove off, not even a couple of minutes had passed when the back said yok and the right side went back.

As a result, the metal part connecting the seat and backrest broke (goes diagonally). When I saw what exactly broke, I was surprised at the effort it took for this action.

Now, in fact, a few questions to the respected nivovods:
1. What is easier to buy a driver's seat and whether to find a used one and tear out the broken part from it? If you find a used one, then who has something similar?
2. Isn't it easier to buy Recaro seats? But there is one more question, I have cases with lateral support, for which I gave a lot of money. Will these covers fit over the Recaro's seats?

If interested: tel 334-9011 ask Gleb.

Can you tell the owners of Recaro what to look for when choosing a seat, except for convenience and all kinds of adjustments ??

When I bought 2121 with old seats I wanted to find and put a seat from 213. But it turned out that they break with terrible force!
IMHO, you have to buy some kind of foreign car seat!
And ALER has a lot of experience regarding repairs, I think he will now tell you.

You screw a square tube 20X20 to the regular hinges of the rear seat, and already to it you weld four hinges for the two backs of the seat. At first I wanted to do this, but then I thought about it, and decided why I didn't need it.

Added after 2 minutes 35 seconds:

Up to the heap:
I want to make the backrest in general in the form of a board 10 cm wide (I will fix it with regular “latches”). This is so that backpacks and so forth can be pushed into the gap between the seat and this "back".

Gentlemen, tell me in the next question.

The native passenger seat has ceased to be fixed - to stop when you move it back (to the back seat). That is, the seat moves back, but is not fixed.

Previously, it seemed to be fixed in the very rear position, but now it is fixed completely in front.

I hope I have explained clearly.
Who knows what may be there, I looked, the seat will need to be removed and disassembled.

It happens that the slide squeezes the sliding side surfaces and until you move them apart, the lubrication does not help. I tried to lubricate such a slide - I suffered for half a day, sweated, but to no avail. disassembled, parted and like clockwork. and if the insides wedge (rubber bands wear out on wheels), you also have to disassemble. for more than a year now I have been repairing seats 213 (at my leisure), met with all sorts. as a rule, it is enough to remove dirt and lubricate well.

rather, the slide should not be pushed apart, but compressed (the upper part of the slide, which is in the form of the letter D), over time, under the influence of the weight of the driver (or passenger), it moves apart in different directions and the sliding surfaces rub against each other strongly. You can clearly see and understand in the illustrated album “body equipment”.

We will show you how you can replace the standard, not very comfortable NIVA car seats with comfortable ones from the Mazda 3, without the use of welding and special tools. When replacing, we advise you to remove the old noise insulation along the way, for cleaning the floor, anti-corrosion treatment, and just general cleaning.

For the alteration, we need a grinder, an electric drill, 4 discs from a grinder, 2 drills for 8 and 13. A set of keys and heads. We also used 4 meters of steel 2x mm profile 60 × 40 and fixing fittings.

We start work from the front seat. We cut the profile to size and attach it to the regular places of the slide.

We remove the native mounting brackets from our Mazda seats, leaving only the slide. Having secured the profile, we set the seat in place and mark the holes for fastening. We fix the ready-made guides to the regular attachment points to the body. To attach the profile to the rear attachment point, at the top point of the profile plane we make holes of large diameter so that the head can get close to the fastener.
