However, sooner or later every owner of the "six", who does not have the funds to install seats from another car, thinks about it. In no case will we dissuade you from replacing regular seats with others. Moreover! We will also support in replacing the entire VAZ-2106 with something more modern, but! What if there are ordinary "seats" and you need to squeeze the maximum out of them?

Before the start ...

The inconvenience of the classic seats from AvtoVAZ is explained very simply - their ridiculous shape. Developed back in the 1970s, they do not have the slightest bit of modern car seats. No lumbar support, no popliteal bolster ... There is only one way out: do it all yourself!

Remember the condition: budget is stupid. And if so, then we will give the correct shape to the foam rubber sockets with the help of improvised means. A plank, plywood and a piece of inferior soundproofing came to hand ...

A piece of plywood - to combat the excessive softness of the seat

It started. Through long estimates and measurements, it was decided to shove a piece of plywood under the driver's seat cushion cover in order to give it the necessary rigidity. The very first race showed that sitting on plywood, to put it mildly, is uncomfortable and you need to add softness. Soundproofing became a layer between the wooden base of our "anatomical" chair and the driver. Please note: we are not talking about modern materials for noise insulation with foil and other attributes, but about the simplest "noise" of the USSR times.

Some kind of felt with polyethylene lay under the cover directly on the plywood. It became much more pleasant to sit. Gone is the eternal failure in the unreal softness of the "six" seats, there is a feeling of a secure foundation under the fifth point. But what to do with the back?

My name is Mikhail, now I'll tell you a story about how I managed to exchange a dvenashka for a 2010 Camry.It all started with the fact that I was wildly annoyed by the breakdowns of the two, like nothing serious broke down, but the little things, damn it, so many things that really started to enrage. Here the idea was born that it was time to change the car to a foreign car. The choice fell on the tayet Camry of the tenths.

The reason for the repair is chattering. We disassemble the headrest, and found that steel slides heavily on steel, and there are no more gaps to tighten the clamps harder. We insert I into the clamps of the copper strip.

The head restraints were rusted, making them so difficult to pull out. We clean and lubricate.

Repair and tuning of the "six" salon includes the dismantling of car seats. Before removing the seats on the VAZ 2106, you will need to buy a head for "8" and an open-end wrench for "13". When carrying out installation work, the lack of interconnection between the front seats is taken into account. They are mounted on skids fixed to the body with 4 brackets.

Previously, the front seats are pushed all the way forward (to provide access to the rear brackets). Then they move the chairs back. To unscrew the bolts, you need a key "13". Disconnect the electrical connector from the front seat. The next step is to dismantle the seats.

If necessary, the factory seats are replaced with new ones. Before installing the chairs, you will need to make sure that the slide rails are parallel. Then raise the adjuster, and the seat moves back until it stops.

The brackets are tightened to a torque of 20 N.m. The seats are moved forward, the rear brackets are tightened in the same way. The wires are connected to the battery. If the skids are installed, they are lubricated with Fiol-1 or Litol-24.

For tuning the VAZ 2106 interior, you will need to dismantle the back seat. Previously, experts advise you to study the design of the rear seat. This sofa consists of a cushion and a backrest. The first element is fixed with two studs welded to the body of the "six". These spikes are installed in special holes located along the edges of the sofa.

To remove the seat, you will need to insert a screwdriver between the floor of the "six" and the edge of the part to be dismantled. Pressing a screwdriver, they blow up the sofa from the seats. The next step is to dismantle the backrest. This element is fixed by two brackets welded to the vehicle body. If the seat cushion is removed, the backrest is dismantled by blowing upwards. Such movements should be sharp. We first pull one side, and then the other. The installation of the sofa is carried out in the reverse order.

Automotive standard seats "six" in the process of operation can break down. More often the adjustment of the chair does not function, there is a distortion or bedsores. To repair the seat, you will need to remove special latches at the edges. To dismantle the plate, use a flat screwdriver.

After dismantling the sled mechanism, it is recommended to inspect the chair frame. If the seat is damaged, repair work is carried out using a grinder, welding and a hammer. Then the frame is painted. The structure is assembled in reverse order.

To repair the backrest, you will need to remove the standard cover.

To do this, bend the teeth with a screwdriver. The next stage is the dismantling of the canvas and decorative inserts. After removing the entire cape, the backrest is dismantled. The frame is inspected for defects.

If a crack appears in the backrest, repair work is carried out with a hammer and plywood. A crack can also appear in the fastening of the pivot mechanisms. In this case, it will need to be cut with a grinder. We repair the mechanism by welding and hammering. The next stage is the assembly of the swing mechanism and its synchronization. You will first need to clean and lubricate the connecting rod.

If the mechanism in the repaired unit works well, the structure is assembled. Then, the unit is re-checked for operability. The components of the mechanism must work synchronously and in parallel. The structure is clamped with a clamp, welded, protected and painted.

If the headrest of the VAZ 2106 seat dangles, we insert copper strips into the clamps. It is recommended to clean and lubricate rusty clips. The headrest pillars have straight bottom slots. For quick dismantling of the head restraints, it is recommended to install the lower grooves. The backrest and headrest are assembled in the reverse order. Repair work on the seats of the "six" has been completed.

The VAZ 2106 car of the Zhiguli family was produced in the days of the Soviet Union. The first car of this model rolled off the assembly line of the Volga Automobile Plant in 1976. The new model has received a number of improvements and changes in the design and lining of the car body. The base of the door paneling consists of fiberboard. Over time, this material, absorbing moisture, undergoes deformation. The cladding begins to move away from the inner panel of the door, bend and pull the clips out of the seats. You can purchase a new casing and install it on new clips, then the casing will serve for a long time.

For those wishing to make the cladding in the same style with other interior elements, it is necessary to make a new cladding base. The base material can be the same fiberboard or plywood. It is even better to use less hygroscopic material, such as plastic or plexiglass, they will last longer and will not deform over time.

The procedure for making door trim:

The trim is removed from the door.
With the help of a knife, the factory imitation leather is separated from the base of the casing and removed.
The fiberboard base is placed on a new sheet of material, pressed tightly and the contour of the factory base is outlined, taking into account the holes for clips, bolts and window lifter handles.
Using a jigsaw, a new base is cut out. All holes are drilled.
The prepared material is cut out along the contour of the base, taking into account an allowance of 3-4 cm for a fold.
The material is stretched over the base, the wrapped edges are glued, additionally it can be secured with staples.
New clips are inserted.

The trim for the rear doors is made in a similar way.

The fabricated base can be covered with any suitable material. It can be an automobile carpet, leatherette, alcantara. To create a soft sheathing, a foam rubber sheet, 5–7 mm thick, is first glued onto the base.

Door trims can be used to mount loudspeaker speakers. For these purposes, it is better to use a special acoustic podium. To install the speakers in the door, it is recommended to first insulate the door.

The rear shelf in your car is a very convenient place to install your loudspeakers. Most often, this is what the owners of the VAZ 2106 do. To achieve the best sounding of the acoustic system, a new podium shelf is installed instead of the regular shelf. It is made mainly of chipboard or plywood (10-15 mm) and podiums corresponding to the diameter of the speakers are installed on it. The made shelf is covered with the same material as the door trim.

The factory panel is removed from the vehicle.
Measurements are made and a template is made of cardboard. It is also possible to make a template according to the factory panel.
If the shelf is acoustic, then the speaker placement is marked on the template.
A panel made of chipboard (16 mm) or plywood (12-15 mm) is cut according to the shape of the template with a jigsaw.
Edges are processed. Taking into account the thickness of the shelf, the bevel of the side with which the panel is located to the glass is calculated. Holes are prepared for attaching the panel to the body with bolts or self-tapping screws.
According to the shape of the template, taking into account the curl, the material is cut out.
The material is pulled onto the panel, the curl is fixed with glue or staples. If a Carpet is used, it is glued to the entire covered area.
The panel is installed in its original place and fixed with self-tapping screws.

The floor covering is a textile carpet. It is most susceptible to wear and tear from the feet of passengers and transported goods. It can be made from any suitable material: Carpet, carpet, linoleum.

Removable seats, plastic door sills and pillars, heating system framing, seat belt buckles.
The factory floor trim is removed.
The sheathing, cut to the factory shape, is spread on the floor and carefully leveled.
In the reverse order of removal, the removed interior parts are installed.

High-quality sound insulation is a source of increased comfort. This statement is appropriate for any cars, and even more so for domestic ones. The soundproofing process is not complicated, but very painstaking. You can do it yourself.

In order to avoid problems when working on the installation of sound insulation, I ask you to adhere to three basic rules:

Carefully memorize or write down the procedure for disassembling the cabin. Sketch or mark on the wiring where the wires and connectors are connected. Stack the removed parts and attachments in groups and so as not to lose anything.
Clean well from dirt and degrease the surface before applying noise insulation elements. Measure the part carefully before cutting the material and applying it to the body surface.
Immediately take into account the thickness of the applied materials so as not to lose the necessary clearances for installing the interior trim elements during assembly.

If you have little free time, the work of applying sound insulation can be broken down into stages. For example, disassemble the door, apply sound insulation and put it back together. On the next free day, you can make the next door, etc.

If you do the soundproofing yourself, without outside help, you can calmly handle it in 5 days. We are talking about complete soundproofing of a domestically produced car in a hatchback body, taking into account the soundproofing of the luggage compartment, complete disassembly of the passenger compartment and removal of the instrument panel.

Tools required for noise insulation work:

a set of tools for disassembling the car interior;
tool for removing trim clips;
knife;
scissors;
roller for rolling vibration isolation;
construction hair dryer for heating the bituminous layer of vibration isolation;
gloves for hand protection.

Noise insulation of a car is carried out using two types of materials: vibration-absorbing and sound-absorbing. The choice of material on the market is huge - different thicknesses, absorption characteristics, different manufacturers. The cost is also very different, for any budget, which material to choose is up to you. Naturally, expensive materials are more technological and have an advantage over cheap ones, and the result from their use will be better.

Vibration and sound absorbing materials most popular on the market today

It is quite rare to remove the front seats on the VAZ 2106, and in most cases this is due to their breakdown. The most common of these is when the back is not fixed in an upright position. There are also cases with sleds, when the chairs begin to move tightly on them. In general, in this case, it is better to remove the seat and figure out what is the cause of the breakdown. For this procedure you will need:

8 head with extension
Ratchet handle or crank
Open-end wrench 13

The chairs are fixed with 4 bolts, two of which are in the front and the other two are in the back! First, we move the chair all the way forward, thereby gaining access to the rear mounting bolts:

Now you can safely unscrew the two bolts, as shown in the photo below:

After the rear part is free, you can proceed to the front one, having previously moved the seat all the way back. One bolt there is unscrewed in the same way as the back, but the other is slightly different. There you will need to use a 13 key and unscrew the nut from below, as clearly shown in the photo:

After that, you can remove the front seat of the VAZ 2106 for further repair or replacement.

If replacement is necessary, then we buy new chairs at a price of 3500 each and install everything in the reverse order. The whole job shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes.

1. Preparing the car for the job (see “Preparing the car for TO and repair”).

2. Remove the front seat (see "Front seat - removal and installation").

3. Move the guide along the outer slide to the front of the seat.

4. Using pliers, remove from the hole in the rod the lock of the screw travel, which adjusts the inclination of the seat back.

5. Holding the rod, unscrew the screw from it.

6. Socket wrench by 8 mm we unscrew the bolt of the rear fastening of the outer sled.

7. Move the guide along the slide to the rear of the seat.

8. Holding the rod and guide by hand, with a socket wrench by 8 mm we unscrew the bolt of the front fastening of the sled.

9. Remove the outer slide together with the guide by pulling the spring hook out of the hole in the slide.

10. Socket wrench by 8 mm we unscrew the two bolts securing the inner slide and remove them together with the guide.

1. We clean it from dirt and apply grease to the rubbing parts.

2. Installation of the front seat adjustment mechanisms is carried out in the reverse order.

A year has passed since the seats from the Ford-Scorpio were installed on the VAZ 2106. The new seats fit perfectly into the interior in terms of dimensions, and we got copies from the new model with servos and heating was a nice bonus, but the usual ones are also fine. So, what was the tuning of the VAZ 2106 seats?

Immediately, we note that the Ford seats removed the unpleasant sensation that often arises in the lumbar region for drivers, and also saved them from the problem of the constantly failing adjustment mechanism, in general, they received only advantages from the installation. For installation, we needed a drill, 4 brackets made of steel strip (thickness - 3-5mm).

We removed the standard seats and installed on the front legs of the new Ford brackets with M8x25 bolts, two brackets for each seat (see Fig. 1). Next, we drill holes in the floor of the car (Fig. 2): under the driver's seat and symmetrically to the axis of the car - for the passenger seats. With the help of bolts М10х40, the brackets of the front "legs" are fixed, bolts М10х75 - on the rear thrust bearings. It is necessary to strengthen the fastening connections, both on the side of the passenger compartment and on the side of the bottom. We carry out our plans with the help of steel sheet washers, thickness - 3-5mm. Cover the fasteners from the bottom with anti-corrosion mastic. Here, in fact, is the whole tuning of the VAZ 2106 seats.

I quite liked the idea, the tuning came out efficient and budgetary, however, homemade brackets are still rather weak, so it is worth strengthening them by welding the scarves, as shown in Fig. 1 with a dotted line.

The front seats on a VAZ 2106 car are not interchangeable.The seats are mounted on skids that are attached to the brackets on the body with two bolts at the front and two at the rear. To remove the front seats, we need a thirteen wrench, an eight socket and a barb.

If everything is there, then let's start repairing.

To remove the front seats, you must:

Move the seat all the way back and unscrew the nuts of the bolts securing the slide to the body bracket. Remove nuts and bolts and set aside to avoid loss.

Next, we move the seat all the way forward and in the same way, with an eight-point wrench, unscrew the two bolts securing the slide.

Now you can, by slightly turning the seat to the side, pull it out of the car.

This completes the process of removing the front seats of the VAZ 2106 car. Now we remove the sliders of the sled, which are attached to the frame of the seat cushions with two bolts each.

To remove the slide sliders, you must:

Disconnect the spring of the outer slide.

Now we move the guide all the way back and first unscrew the front bolt of the slider fastening, and then move the guide forward and unscrew the rear bolt of the slider fastening. After removing the bolts and washers, remove the slide.

Install new seat slides in the reverse order of removal. After installing the slide, always lubricate them with grease such as LITOL-24 or FIOL-1. Install the new front seats in the car in the reverse order of removal.

For this procedure you will need:

8 head with extension
Ratchet handle or crank
Open-end wrench 13

The chairs are fixed with 4 bolts, two of which are in the front and the other two are in the back! First, we move the chair all the way forward, thereby gaining access to the rear mounting bolts:

Now you can safely unscrew the two bolts, as shown in the photo below:

After that, you can remove the front seat of the VAZ 2106 for further repair or replacement.

To remove the front seat:

- turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire from the storage battery;

- slide the front seat forward until it stops;

- Remove the two bolts 1 (Fig. 10.80) fastening the rear parts of the seat slide;

- slide the front seat back until it stops;

- Remove the two bolts 1 (Fig. 10.81) fastening the front parts of the seat slide;

- disconnect the electrical connectors from the seat;

- remove the front seat from the car.

To install the front seat:

- make sure that the seat guides are parallel to each other;

- lift the seat height adjuster to the upper position before installing it in place;
