DIY Hyundai porter starter repair

In detail: do-it-yourself Hyundai porter starter repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.

The malfunction of the car was that Porter would not start. The starter relay clicked, and there was also a certain crackle of the retractor starter. The instrument panel went out with each start, as if the battery was dead. Although it was charged 100%.

To begin with, the minus connections to the frame, cab and engine were checked.

Everyone probably knows the mass on the Porter frame from the battery, but many do not know where the mass of the engine and the cabin on the Hyundai Porter is located. So, it is located under the driver's seat on the wing of the cab (on the left side).

With a minus everything is in order, the starter relay has been replaced. The picture has not changed.

The starter on the Hyundai Porter 1 is located on the left side of the engine under the cab (under the driver's seat). First, we disconnect the terminal of the wire going to the retractors. Move aside the driver's seat, lift up the carpet and open the hatch leading to the engine compartment.

Then we climb under the body (kung) on the left side and remove the protective casing (boot), which is held by three 12 bolts.

After removing the cover, unscrew the starter. It is held in place with two bolts 13.

The power cable to the starter motor is long enough to lay it on the ground under the machine.

In general, when removing the starter, it was found that the starter bendex was jammed in the extended state.

The bendex was cleaned and lubricated.

But a slight backlash and pulling the bendex by hand (the force of the bendex spring is easily overcome) indicates that the starter requires more thorough repair than just cleaning (it is likely that it can jam again at the wrong moment).

When installing the cleaned starter in its original place. Porter's car started cheerfully.
