Pocketbook 624 reader, a black bar appeared on the edge of the screen. 2-3 centimeters. After 1-2 switching on and off, it expanded to 4-5 cm. After 5 days of turning on the book, everything is gone and the screen works fine.
After reading the forum, I realized that the problem may be in the controller. Is this the most likely case? The book is still under warranty, only a month has passed. What is better to do, take it to the service center right away or wait a couple of months?

Foolishly, I clicked to quote your post and the account was blocked. since there is a link to a third-party resource- (

Did as you pointed out uv. pal
PB 624 was stitched, but the menu did not appear.
I cannot format it using the book, since there is no menu at all- (

As far as I understand, all the firmware of this book is stored on an internal 4 gig SD memory card. And if I format it using Windows, then how can I flash it later?

You cannot format it using Windows tools.
This is not fatal, I once posted the recovery instructions .. But it's better not to do this.

Uv. pal thanks for your advice. Created a file, reloaded, the menu appeared. Formatted the card using pb 624, rebooted and the memory card died - ((

Now she screams that she is not formatted and sees only 121 megabytes

Will it be possible to revive this animal with another memory card?

1. The problem of gibberish lies in the files themselves. You can customize everything yourself, change the file name, etc. Try changing the settings in the Device Library.
Select "Library", you see a list of books and in the right corner there is a menu where you will see grouping and sorting.
In the grouping "Folder", in the sorting "Book Title" or "File Name", you need to choose.

2. Check if you have the latest firmware. Follow the link to read the instructions on how to install it.
I also recommend formatting.
You need to select Settings - Additional settings - System - Format built-in memory. Please note that formatting will delete all user files from the internal memory of the device, therefore, before performing this procedure, it is strongly recommended that you back up this data to a computer or an external memory card (this will not delete system files).

There were several problems with the 624 model at once:
1) the typing of words on the keyboard does not work adequately - often a button is pressed next to the desired one
2) every 5 minutes, the page is completely refreshed (and the indicator on the power button flashes)
3) after a while of use, a glitch with auto shutdown started: after it, I turn on the book, and it goes into an endless download (the hourglass is spinning). It can only be solved by rebooting (press the power button for 15-20 seconds). With the usual shutdown of the book, there is no such jamb.

Updated the firmware from 4.3 to 4.4. The jamb with auto shutdown is gone. The rest stayed. Added a glitch with a double click - you open the book and press forward once - nothing happens, the second time - turns over two pages one after the other at once. I rebooted the book - it didn’t help. In the book menu, I selected System -> Format built-in memory. The double tap glitch is gone. But the first two problems remained. The question is - why refresh the page every 5 minutes? No other reader does this))

formalin,
about the wheelbarrow:
go to Applications - Scribble and draw. So you can check if your drawings are displayed adequately and, accordingly, the touchscreen is working

about updating the screen:
change the update mode in the settings via the "settings" - "appearance" - "full page refresh" - "never" or "every 10 pages"
You need to understand that the page is updated not in a certain period of time, but after a certain number of page turns.

on the touchscreen - I figured it out, it turns out that if you type letters from the keyboard, the boundaries of the letter being typed are shifted to the right relative to the border of the "key". Therefore, if I press a little to the right of the center of the key with the letter "in" - I hit my finger in the zone of the letter "s" - and it is printed. Apparently made for more convenient typing with the right hand. Already used to

by screen refresh - in the “full page refresh” settings, the value “never” is set. The trick is that I read, put aside the book and it starts to refresh the page every 5 minutes, without flipping. The same happens if the screen is locked. Therefore, in order not to drain the battery, you have to turn on - turn off the book every time. For example, my MagicBook Z6 has not turned off for several months - instead of turning it off, I simply lock the screen, and the battery lasts longer and the book is ready to continue reading at any time.

formalin,
for PocketBook devices I recommend setting auto power off.

Added after 2 minutes 34 seconds:

Yes, that is right.
It's just that our hibernation mode has a different task.
It was invented not to save money, but so that, if necessary, without turning off the device, disable access to the touch and buttons for a short period of time, and to save money, it is recommended to turn off the auto.
The device is equipped with a powerful enough processor, so it doesn't take long to turn it on and off.
