A modern automatic washing machine is a rather expensive household appliance. But thanks to the washing machine, many no longer remember how they washed some fifteen years ago.
And how offensive it can be when, out of habit, you need to quickly wash something, but your assistant does not work. The first thought runs through the brain - "how so, where to get money for a new washing machine." In reality, not everything is so sad. Most of the units of the washing machine are replaceable, and many parts are easy to repair with your own hands.
One of the most frequently breaking units of a washing machine is water pump (drain pump), below we will analyze one of the options repairing the washing machine pump.
A washing machine appeared in our family ten years ago. All this time, she performed all the routine work of washing clothes and clothes. You quickly get used to good things, and at one point the washing machine broke down. There were no plans to buy a new washing machine yet, so I decided to repair it myself.
By the method of scientific poking, I found out that the drain pump had broken, as there was water in the drum. When starting the washing machine in drain mode, the sound of the pump was heard, but with some kind of extraneous sounds. But to get started washing machine repair you need to somehow drain the remaining water from it. It turned out to be all very simple - so that drain water with non-working washing machine you need to unscrew the drain hose and lower its end with a low container so that the level of the hose is below the washing machine tank. This will almost completely drain the water out of the machine.
After the water was drained, unscrew the pump filter cover. There were several coins. But the pump didn't work because of them. Impeller drain pump flew off the axis, which caused the washing machine to malfunction.

Putting the impeller in its place, I decided to check. I started the drain mode, at the first revolutions the impeller easily flew off. After repeating the operation again, with the same result, I decided to remove the pump from the washing machine.
Buy a pump for a washing machine it is possible in the store of spare parts for household appliances, its cost is from 600 rubles. You can always buy, but you can repair the pump do it yourself a matter of principle, especially in such a simple case. After removing the pump, you need to disassemble it to get to the axis on which the impeller is worn. In my case, you need to screw three screws.
Subsequently, the reason was found out - the impeller flew off the axis of the priests, there was formed the development of the surface of both the axis itself and the impeller at the place of their connection. After some deliberation, I decided to do so. I took a bolt with a diameter of about three millimeters, cut off one and a half centimeters of thread from it.
I drilled a corresponding hole in the impeller itself in the center.
A piece of thread from the bolt was soldered to the axis of the washing machine pump.
I put the impeller on the pump and tightened the nut on the thread.
Then he proceeded to collect the washing machine. After I put everything in place, I checked the performance drain pump... Everything worked great. This is the work on repairing the drain pump of the washing machine finished. Thus, when repairing a pump do it yourself more than 600 rubles were saved and about an hour of work was spent. Although I think that you could just fill the inside of the impeller with glue and put it on the pump, but there is no guarantee that it will last long.

The pump in the washing machine is designed to pump water into the drum, and drain the waste water through the drain hose into the sewer. Malfunctions in the operation of the pump are signaled by the control panel, on the display of which the corresponding error code appears. Under this breakdown, different manufacturers encrypt their code, so the same code in machines from different manufacturers may indicate breakdowns of a different nature.
A breakdown of the pump during washing will make it impossible to drain water, thus, water will remain in the tank, and the hatch will not be able to open, since the control module will signal the continuation of washing or rinsing. Manufacturers use pumps of different design features and power, depending on the volume of water consumed.
If you are faced with a pump breakdown problem, contact our service center "RemonTechnik", where qualified specialists will diagnose and repair the drain pump, and you will be busy with your business.
If the machine does not start working correctly, then the following symptoms may indicate a pump malfunction:
The machine starts the drain program, as a result, the water is not drained, but remains in the tank;
When draining water, a characteristic sound is heard;
The water is pumped out slowly, not completely;
The machine turns off until the water is completely drained;
The control module freezes;
The pump motor hums, but the water does not drain.
If you notice one or more of the listed symptoms, then in most cases this is due to a pump breakdown. To make sure of this, you should also check the drain hose and filter. Debris can accumulate here, making it difficult for the water to flow.
The location of the pump may vary from brand to brand. The easiest way to dismantle the pump on "washing machines" from Indesit, Candy, Whirpool, Ardo, Beko, Samsung, LG, Ariston, because they can get to the required unit through the bottom. To open access to the pump, it is enough to put the household appliance on its side (so that the door is on the right, then the pump will be on top). Then unscrew the bolts (may be recessed head bolts), and remove the power terminals. Then disconnect the drain hoses, which are attached with clamps. Often manufacturers use disposable clamps, you should take care of spare ones for installing the pump.
Important! If the pump breaks down, water may remain in the drum, nozzles and filter, so you should remember about the container for water intake.
In washing machines from some German manufacturers, Bosch, AEG, Siemens, the bottom is sealed, so the pump can be accessed through the front panel. Dismantling includes the following steps:
Remove the container for washing powder;
Slide the top cover (it is fastened with two self-tapping screws located on the back wall);
Dismantle the control module. When disconnecting the terminals, it is important to remember where which one is connected to. Usually they have "foolproof" - they have different sizes;
Dismantle the bottom panel (under the hatch);
Remove the front panel of the "washing machine". Wires are connected to the sunroof blocker, they must be disconnected.Do not make sudden movements, as the contacts can be damaged. In the event that the panel does not lend itself, it is possible that the manufacturer used hidden bolts.
Remove the chips from the pump that provide voltage;
Release hose clamps.
Then you need to push on the pump and pull it out.
In new models of machines, in order to remove the volute from the pump, it is enough to turn it counterclockwise; otherwise, you will have to unscrew the bolts. Then you should disconnect the filter, and check the impeller's serviceability - whether debris interferes with its free rotation. The impeller may break if foreign matter enters.
If the pump is visually in order, it is necessary to disassemble the pump motor housing. To do this, you need to carefully push apart the plastic latches and remove the motor from the coil. You can also check the presence and integrity of the bearings.
As a result of their falling out, the impeller begins to rub against the volute, which leads to damage to both parts. All pump repairs are reduced to cleaning it, replacing oil seals and bearings. If the pump engine is damaged, then it is more expedient to replace it. Assembly and installation of the pump is carried out in the reverse order.
A video will help you to understand in detail how to repair a washing machine pump:
The washing machine pump is an essential element to ensure the required performance and stability. The pump directly pumps in water, and also drains it after the end of the wash. If problems arise with this, then it may be necessary to repair the washing machine pump with your own hands. Usually, after several years of operation, the degree of wear makes itself felt that it needs to be checked or even replaced.
If the washing machine malfunctions, then the first step is to diagnose. Only after establishing the exact reason, you can start repairing the pump yourself. Typical signs of a pump failure are:
lack of response to given programs;
strong hum when pouring or draining water;
water is supplied in an incomplete volume;
the machine turns off during the filling process or somehow malfunctions.
Usually your washing machine works in automatic mode - you do not need to perform any unnecessary actions. If not, then the impeller may need to be checked or the entire pump replaced.
