In detail: do-it-yourself repair of a dishwasher from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
At one time, a British magazine conducted a survey of readers about the quality of household appliances. There was only one unequivocal conclusion - there is no problem-free household appliances. Moreover, the models of the elite - class, after 5 - 6 years, begin to malfunction. Noteworthy is their conclusion about the degree of reliability of dishwashers of leading brands. This is how the British named Ariston, Bosch and Electrolux the leaders in durability among the brands.
But, as mentioned, even the most reliable home assistant starts to malfunction. And when this happens there are two ways out: roll up your sleeves and undertake repairs yourself, or call for help from a specialist from the service center. Statistics speaks in favor of the first option, namely, most dishwasher malfunctions are eliminated at home. And in the statistics of service centers the leading place is occupied by “no drain”.
Therefore, minor and not very complex malfunctions can be completely eliminated by yourself, but for this you need to get acquainted with the device of the dishwasher and consider possible options for repairing dishwashers. Which is the purpose of this article.
The body, as in any household appliances, serves as a base on the basis of which all the main components and assemblies of the machine are located. The main elements of a dishwasher include the following:
Control panel, which is always located on the front side of the machine. It consists of a digital microcontroller (timer), control buttons and an indicator display (which can be used as an indicator beam, which is projected onto the floor surface).
Video (click to play).
Spray blocks or impeller. This is a dishwashing water supply system. Consists of a system of pipes and nozzles (there are two of them: upper and lower). Due to the special design, water and detergent are supplied under high pressure, which ensures high quality dishwashing.
A float switch is a means of protection against water leakage. A hollow plastic cylinder floats up at a certain volume of water and thereby closes the contacts. Depending on the design, these contacts close the pump activation circuit for pumping water out or perform emergency closing of the water supply valve to the machine.
The drainage unit consists of a drainage pipe, which is connected to a common sewage network and a sump pump. The principle of operation is identical with the drain in washing machines, who knows.
Water inlet with built-in inlet valve controlled by a digital microcontroller.
The water pump is used to supply water to the spray guns and, on some models, to drain the water. As a rule, it is located together with an electric motor, which starts the pump.
Filters are designed to "catch" food debris and other objects.
These are actually all the most important and most common elements of dishwashers in case of malfunctions. Of course, different manufacturers can add other blocks that expand the functionality of the unit. But all of the above is the base, having dealt with it, you can easily deal with the individual structural elements of your car.

To repair a dishwasher with your own hands, you must have a minimum set of tools, namely:
screwdrivers: Phillips, flat and hex (as shown in the image);
a multimeter with a resistance measurement scale (Ohm);
pliers and wire cutters.
If there is no indication at all, check the presence of voltage in the outlet using a multimeter. If there is voltage in the socket, the machine will have to be opened.
If there is an indication of buttons and a display, but the program does not start, check the tightness of the door closing. It didn't help - repairing Zanussi dishwashers requires disassembling the machine.
At the bottom of the machine, under the front panel, there should be a junction box with terminals. The voltage through the cable enters this box, and only then through the control contacts it diverges further. Therefore, it is necessary to remove the panel and check the condition of the terminals. This place is susceptible to moisture and therefore the contacts may well oxidize. If so, clean the joints with sandpaper.
After we got to the box and if no damage to the wires and connections was visually found, it is necessary to ring the power circuit and determine the place of damage. Disconnect the voltage input wires to the box and ring them with a multimeter (while the machine is disconnected from the mains and water supply, and all the water has been drained). Both cores must be called back by a device with a set resistance measurement scale, i.e. if the conductor is intact, it should be short, as if connecting two probes together. You can easily replace the defective cable from the socket to the box yourself, and if after that the car comes to life - great. If not, then for the repair of Siemens dishwashers or other brands, there are two ways out: call a specialist or, at your own peril and risk, look for a fault in the circuit further.
To select the second option, i.e. search on your own, first of all, you need to find the electrical schematic diagram of your dishwasher model. And then, step by step, check the entire chain. To do this, break the chain at the joints and use a tester to check the performance of all chain links.
For an easier understanding of the circuit and troubleshooting, we present some information:
on the diagram, all the colors of the wires are abbreviated in English letters, they all have a different color, so it is easier to find the required section of the electrical circuit. So be careful and you can't go wrong. An example of such designations: BK - black, T-R - yellow-brown with a red stripe, W-BK - white with a black stripe, BR-O - brown with an orange stripe, etc.
small circles on the diagram indicate the places of the terminal connections, it is in these places that it is necessary to break the circuit and take measurements;
A dash-dotted line means that these groups of contacts and circuit elements are located inside some block, for example, a start relay or a button panel (on the diagram, next to the circled place, the name of the block and the connection points with the designation and name of the contacts are indicated).
Note. For any chain, there must be a beginning and an end, i.e. in order for the voltage to start some element of the circuit, it is always necessary that the "+" can get to the minus. Carefully follow the path of switching on the element of the electrical circuit that interests you (be it a bimetallic plate or heating element). It's like a route from point A to point B, if there is a break somewhere, it means a dead end, the voltage will not pass, all the elements will not be able to work.
If the water supply valve is open and the machine does not draw water into the system, then either the filter mesh is clogged or the water supply valve is faulty. The valve and the mesh are located at the bottom of the machine where water enters the machine. It is necessary to disconnect the machine from the pipe, remove the panel and check these elements. If the screen is clogged, it must be rinsed with a jet of water. The performance of the valve, or rather its coils, can be checked with a tester. To do this, we disconnect the leads of the coils and measure the resistance. If the device shows a short (as when connecting the probes together), the coil has an interturn short circuit. If there is zero resistance, then there is a winding break.If there is a certain amount of resistance, the winding is intact, but the problem is inside the valve. In all cases, you will have to buy a new inlet valve, similar and with the same flow capacity.
Determine by sound - whether the electric motor is "humming". The answer is yes, it means most likely something has jammed either the engine or the pump. How to check and unblock the pump is shown in the video below.
VIDEO
Damage to the motor windings can also be the cause of the malfunction. To check it, you must turn off its conclusions and check with a multimeter for winding breakage or interturn short circuit. In the event of the mentioned malfunctions, it is necessary to replace it with a similar motor or rewind, which will be carried out by a specialist.
If there is no sound of starting and running the engine, repair of Indesit dishwashers and search for damage must be carried out in the same way as described in the first malfunction, i.e. it is necessary, guided by the diagram, to go along the chain and look for the cause of the break.
It is necessary to check the sewer pipe to see if the drain is clogged. This could be due to a blockage or damage to the drain pump. To determine the cause of the malfunction, it must be removed and checked for clogging. Also, using a multimeter, you can check the health of the windings.
Also, the reason may be dirty filters, how to maintain them is shown in the video below.
VIDEO
The causes of this malfunction can be both damage to the motor windings and a malfunction of the timer. With the latter, everything is not very simple, so if you suspect a timer, contact a repair specialist for dishwashers from Bosch or other manufacturers.
The leakage of the car can be associated with the condition of the door seal, it is checked visually. If his condition is unsatisfactory, then you can buy a new one and replace it with a new one without any problems.
In the event of a leak from under the machine, the location of the leak must be determined. To do this, you need to remove the panel in order to get to the bottom. This will allow you to visually identify the location of the leak, as a rule, it can be a damaged pump seal, water supply hose or in the drain system.
Check for metal or glass debris. Bearing wear possible. If at the same time the quality of dishwashing has decreased, this may indicate damage to the pump impeller. Therefore, if there are no fragments, it will be necessary to disassemble the motor and pump in order to determine the degree of bearing wear. The motor shaft must run smoothly and smoothly without obstruction.
This malfunction can be caused by the following reasons:
the heating element is faulty;
defective temperature sensor;
timer malfunction.
You can figure out the first malfunction yourself, disconnect the heating element and check for resistance. If there is a break, we buy a new one and change it. With the other two it will be quite difficult, for example, to check the timer, you need to know the entire sequence or algorithm for turning on the contacts to heat the heating element. Therefore, the best solution for most users would be to contact a service center.
If the machine is equipped with a turbo-drying system for dishes, then this malfunction indicates damage to the fan motor windings or damage in the switching circuit thereof. It is easy to check the windings, you need to get to the terminals for turning on the fan motor and check their serviceability with a multimeter. If the fan is operational, it is necessary to check the entire electrical circuit for switching on the fan.
We have covered the most common dishwasher malfunctions. Of course, it is impossible to describe everything, but we hope that we have sufficiently highlighted the troubleshooting algorithm so that we can start self-repairing dishwashers.It is worth mentioning that the repair of Electrolux dishwashers, or any others with your own hands, should be done after the expiration of the warranty period. Otherwise, you void the manufacturer's warranty, but it is definitely up to you to decide.
Indesit dishwashers are assembled in Poland under the control of the head office located in Italy. This technique attracts users with its low price and relatively good quality, of course, they are far from "boshes", but nevertheless it is in demand among consumers. One of the main disadvantages of these dishwashers, sensitivity to power surges, leads to the fact that the machine breaks down. How to repair Indesit dishwashers will be discussed further.
Anything can break down in the Indesit dishwasher, especially if it is used for a very long time or the operating rules are violated. For example, a circulation pump, a temperature sensor, a water level sensor, a filler valve may fail, rocker arms and cleaning filters are clogged with plaque. But most often, according to the masters, the following parts break in Indesit dishwashers:
a heating element, as a result of which the quality of washing dishes decreases, since the water does not heat up;
dishwasher tank, which leads to water leakage and the appearance of extraneous noise. Replacing a tank is a difficult category of repair; such a service costs about 1,200 rubles plus the cost of a new tank. In general, this is not as expensive as it seems at first glance, because you will have to sort out and disassemble the entire dishwasher body, which is not so easy for an untrained person to do, therefore, for your own peace of mind, it is better to contact a master who will probably fix the dishwasher;
the electronic control board is the "brain" of the dishwasher, which is responsible for the work of all its internal "organs".
The heating element can burn out for various reasons: due to scale formation, power surges, wear. This breakdown is of average complexity, its elimination will cost around 1200 rubles, not counting the cost of the heating element itself. However, it is quite possible to replace it yourself, but first you need to purchase an original spare part.
For your information! If the machine stops heating water, then the AL10 error code should appear on dishwashers with a display.
So, the replacement of the heating element is carried out as follows:
disconnect the machine from the power supply and water supply;
put on the back wall, first, having laid something under it;
unscrew the screws holding the bottom cover of the case and remove it; in some models it may be necessary to remove the side panels;
under the cover you can see all the main parts of the machine, as for the ten, it goes with the pump in the Indesit dishwashers;
taking a multimeter in hand, check the heating element;
then we remove the disposable clamps from the heating element and disconnect it;
you also need to remove the hose coming from the pump to a container with water, this is necessary in order to pull out the entire pump with a heating element;
now it is necessary to disconnect the ground wire from the pump;
we take out the pump with the attached heater from the car;
then we unscrew the heating element from the engine counterclockwise;
Important! The edges of the heating element are very sharp, so take a rag and cover the heating element, only then unscrew it from the pump body.
now you need to remove the old O-ring from the pump;
then you need to lubricate the new sealing gum and the walls of the heating element with grease;
we put on an elastic band and connect the pump and the heating element, you will have to make an effort;
now you need to change the old clamps for new ones and install the pump with the heating element in the car, connecting the hose and wires;
before assembling the dishwasher body, you need to run a test sink to check the tightness of the connections.
The control module is responsible for the operation of all parts of the dishwasher, receiving signals from various sensors and giving commands.This is a complex device that can cost 3000-6000 rubles for different models of dishwashers and even more. Whether such a repair is advisable is up to you. Replacing a module belongs to the average category of complexity, so it is likely that you can change it yourself.
Disconnect the dishwasher from the power supply.
Loosen the six screws holding the front facade panel.
Then remove the 6 screws that hold the control panel.
Gently pull out the control panel and hang it on the door, be careful not to scratch the dishwasher.
Disconnect the black wire.
Unscrew the control module from the control panel.
Disconnect all wires from the module by releasing the latches.
Connect the electrical wires to the new module and reinsert.
Collect the car.
So, the repair of the Indesit brand dishwasher can be done independently, if you have the desire, skills and time. Detailed instructions and videos will help you get the job done. Happy renovation!

A dishwasher (PMM, dishwasher) is a good help in the household, eliminating the exhausting and unpleasant labor of washing dishes by hand.
Therefore, a breakdown or malfunction of this kitchen equipment forces the owners to immediately contact a service center or call a master for repair.
You can contact a specialized service center for the repair of washing machines RemonTechnik. The center operates in Moscow and the Moscow region. The master will arrive on the day of the application.
Although most dishwasher breakdowns can be repaired by DIYers do it yourself .
Even the most reliable dishwashers of such world leaders as BOSCH (among the common people Bosch), Electrolux, Hansa, Ariston, Siemens are subject to wear and tear. Malfunctions can be caused by:
Poor quality electricity (voltage surges);
"Hard water" (a large percentage of mineral salts and small particles);
Bad or unsuitable chemicals for dishwashers;
Improper operation of the dishwasher and poor quality care for it;
Incorrect dishwasher installation.
The video below details the correct connection and installation of the dishwasher.
VIDEO Practice shows that most of the cases when the dishwasher does not turn on, or cannot continue to work, does not come from a breakdown of mechanisms or electronics, but from clogging filters and nozzles, contamination of various surfaces, scale build-up in valves, or failure to comply with various external conditions - network voltage, water pressure, pressure in the sewer drain.
Therefore, it is important to carefully read the instructions and study the display of the dishwasher, which in some cases can itself diagnose the cause of the stoppage of work. For example, if the lock symbol is displayed, it means that the door is not closed tightly, and the “smart” dishwasher will not draw water so as not to flood the kitchen.
Dishwasher control panel
Various sensors allow the dishwasher to react to changes in internal and external parameters: temperature (thermostat), water level (pressure switch), fluid purity, pressure, engine controllers, and so on. It should be understood that failure of the sensor will affect the operation or may cause a complete stop of the wash cycle. It is obvious that the sensors operate in a dirty, aggressive environment, and may also be susceptible to contamination, which will affect their performance.
The result of the correct interaction of all components of the dishwasher - sparkling clean dishes
In order to repair dishwashers of such brands as BOSCH (in common people Bosch), Electrolux, Hansa, Ariston, Siemens with your own hands, you need to understand the interaction of sensors and the principle of automated dishwashing, and you also need to consider the internal structure of the dishwasher.There is an expression: "water wears away the stone" (destroys, washes away), and this happens especially quickly if the liquid is hot, supplied under pressure, and enriched with detergent.
In industrial machines, a jet of water, escaping under high pressure, cuts metal, rocks, and other hard materials. Therefore, the high pressure of water is the main reason why in high-quality dishwashers (for example, Bosch, Electrolux) there is no trace of dirt on the dishes.
VIDEO In the dishwasher, the pressure and the pressure of the jet are selected with the optimal parameters to ensure that even strong, stubborn dirt is washed away without damaging the dishes. Given the relatively large washing area, there should be many jets. In order to evenly distribute the flushing flows over the entire area of the dishes, the so-called "rocker arms" on which the nozzles are located rotate during operation.
Dishwasher crescent arm
The pressure is supplied by the dishwasher circulating pump driven by an electric motor. Water, heated by a running heating element, by means of a pump, is supplied under high pressure to the nozzles that wash the dishes. The rocker arms on which the nozzles are located rotate from the jet thrust of the jets. The dirty water flowing down is filtered and the wash cycle is repeated.
VIDEO
A huge share of all user complaints about the operation of the dishwasher is that after automated washing, you have to bring the dishes to the required level of cleanliness with your own hands, that is, the dishwasher does not completely wash away dirt and food debris. The reason may be the wrong mode selected, insufficient water temperature or an internal malfunction in the dishwasher. The video below describes the processes that should take place in a working dishwasher:
VIDEO It is also obvious that if the water pressure is insufficient, the dirt will not be washed away during the estimated period of operation of the dishwasher. In addition, if some jets of water are absent, or stop escaping at the required speed, then the jet thrust will not be enough to rotate the rocker arms, which means that some of the dishes will not be under the pressure washing away the dirt.
The jets of water must be evenly distributed throughout the cookware.
The reasons for the low pressure of the flushing jets:
Clogged nozzles;
Clogged filter, due to which water does not enter the pump in sufficient quantities;
Wear of the pump impeller, which cannot deliver the required pressure;
Low engine speed due to internal failure or bearing wear.
Regarding injectors DIY service repair accessible to any user, regardless of gender, technical skills and physical capabilities, and at the same time it is possible to carry out without opening the dishwasher case. You need to remove the rocker arm, take a toothpick, or a needle of a suitable diameter, and carefully clean all nozzles .
VIDEO
Periodic cleaning of the filters is a prerequisite for the proper operation of the dishwasher. Since PMMs of various manufacturers (BOSCH, Electrolux, Hansa, Ariston, Siemens) have different designs, it is necessary in each case to look at the instructions for cleaning the filter. An indirect sign of dirty filters can be the accumulation of water inside the dishwasher, and even its leakage through the door seal.
To clean the filters, the metal pan frame must be removed from the body to provide access. The filtration system consists of several compartments - on top, in the form of a plate, there is a coarse filter, and a little below there are filters with a smaller cell. Grease build-up often accumulates on the finest filter.
Dishwasher integral filter
Due to a dirty filter, the pump cannot pump out water in the required volume, which causes a drop in pressure, so the dishwasher begins to draw water from the water supply, increasing consumption. Excess water begins to accumulate at the bottom of the dishwasher, to the point that it begins to flow through the seal. The video below shows in detail the process of cleaning the dishwasher filter, which the user must periodically do with his own hands:
VIDEO Another important aspect of cleanliness is the presence of salt in a special container at the bottom of the dishwasher. This special salt commercially available for removing grease accumulations in hoses and various machinery. For active users of the dishwasher, a detailed video on cleaning and caring for a kitchen assistant will be interesting:
VIDEO It must be remembered that timely maintenance of the dishwasher is the key to its high-quality operation without repairs and malfunctions for a long time.
But, it often happens that even after a preventive major cleaning, the dishwasher does not work properly. To determine the malfunction and the prospects for further repair with your own hands, it is necessary to find out the nature of the breakdown. To do this, you need to establish at what stage the wash cycle was interrupted.
Diagram showing the complete dishwashing cycle
In general, after loading the dishes and turning on the dishwasher, the dishwasher performs work in several stages:
Water intake - the corresponding valves at the inlet from the water supply are triggered;
Detergent intake from a special reservoir;
Heating of the washing liquid using a heating element;
Washing dishes with water jets from different directions;
Draining water using an evacuating (drain pump);
Optional dish drying.
If the dishwasher suddenly stops at some stage, then this means a malfunction in the components responsible for performing this part of the cycle, or incorrect readings of the sensors.
Almost any modern complex household equipment equipped with a microprocessor has internal diagnostics and failure indication using error codes ... You should carefully study the instructions to understand which type of malfunction occurred in the dishwasher to repair the dishwasher. In this way, you can determine the breakdown even before disassembling the equipment case.
Dishwasher error codes
For example, a few typical breakdowns and their causes:
No water is collected - the electromechanical valve does not work. Humming is sometimes heard. The valve is stuck or its coil is burnt out. Electronic breakdown is possible;
The detergent is not washed out from the reservoir - the wrong mode is selected, or the tubes are clogged, valve breakage, algorithm failure;
The rocker arm with nozzles does not rotate - insufficient pressure, clogged nozzles or accumulation of grease, dirt and scale on rubbing surfaces;
Unexpected stop of the washing process - clogged filters, engine overload, algorithm failure or overflow of the safety pan that collects leaks;
the dishwasher does not drain the water - the pump is out of order, the filter is clogged or the air pressure in the sewer is preventing the drain.
VIDEO In practice, there can be many more reasons, and typical breakdowns and recommendations for repair should be described in the user manual. An explanation of the causes of errors and malfunctions is explained in the video:
VIDEO
If the cause of the malfunction is found, the home craftsman will need a set of installation tools to disassemble the case - screwdrivers (ordinary, cross-shaped, curly, hexagonal, pliers, various keys). First, remove the dishwasher from the installation niche to ensure full accessibility from all sides.
Be sure to de-energize the equipment before disassembling the case and repairing it!
All technicians, starting the repair of equipment, first look for simple breakdowns that can be easily corrected: poor contact, faulty cable, oxidized connection, etc. high temperatures.
Closely inspect the electronic control board
In the future, eliminating simple malfunctions, they check the systems and components responsible for the unfinished stage of the cycle. For example, using a multimeter, they check the coils of the solenoid valves, ring the electric motor, check the relays, sensors and semiconductor components of the circuit, measure the voltage, etc.
Since there are many possible breakdowns of dishwashers, there is no way in one article to describe the repair of equipment units that are different in functionality and purpose. You need to have certain skills to repair the mechanisms and electronic components that make up the PMM. It will be useful to visit various forums where professional craftsmen and DIYers share their skills and their own experience in repairing their devices.
Some dishwasher components
Below, in several detailed videos, the repair of specific models of an automatic dishwasher from BOSCH Electrolux, Hansa, Ariston, Siemens is shown. But given that, in general, the designs and principles of operation of this equipment do not differ much from different manufacturers, a home craftsman, having some skills and the required tools, can carry out successful repairs with his own hands, without resorting to the services of professional repair shops.
VIDEO VIDEO
The dishwasher is simple, a number of maintenance actions have been developed that can be performed independently by the owner of the purchase. Filter cleaning, adjustment. We hope the tips below will help you do your DIY dishwasher repairs.
A number of standard operating modes are laid down, each model is equipped with a couple of specific ones. But the tentative algorithm is similar. The dishwasher draws water from the mains supply. The fence goes through a brine overflow softener. The brine compartment is usually located in the floor of the dishwasher, covered with a lid.
The flow enters under its own pressure, bypassing the inlet filter, and is regulated by a float valve or pressure switch. The required amount of water has filled the dishwasher - the inlet is closed and heating starts.
The required temperature is different depending on the technological stage of the cycle. For the last rinse, the value is traditionally higher. Designed to facilitate the drying process of dishes.
The heated water is pumped by the main pump (called the pump unit) into the working chamber. It gets there through sprinklers equipped with sprinklers. A thoughtful choice of the direction of the beating jets creates a reactive force that rotates the impeller. The dishwasher has two spray arms, one upper and one lower. The design is devoid of fundamental differences.
The waste water goes through two stages of cleaning, bypassing filters, then it is used for washing again. In the process described, a little powder is introduced into the chamber through the door of the detergent drawer. The exact amount is set by the program. The dishwasher uses water several times, cleansing the stream with two filters, at the end of the technological stage, sends it to the drain with a special drain pump.
At the end of the cycle, drying is carried out. There are several types of procedure, mainly:
condensation drying;
turbo drying.
In the first case, the dishes dry due to the heating obtained by the last rinse, the steam condenses on the cold walls, flows down. The process is catalyzed by special substances contained in the rinse aid, which reduce the surface tension of the water. In dishwashers equipped with a turbo dryer, hot, humid air is forced out by a fan, speeding up the process.
It was mentioned above how washing powder, gel, tablets get into the compartment. The rinse aid is poured into a separate container, in some cases it may not participate at all in the process. The loop looks like this:
preliminary wash;
main sink;
rinsing;
drying.
It remains to mention that for washing, the dishes are laid out in special baskets, they lie motionless during the cycle. Water jets are poured from all directions due to the rotation of the sprinkler impellers. Below are a kind of guide to repairing dishwashers, useful tips for tracking the correct operation of the equipment.
It is recommended to entrust the repair of industrial dishwashers to professionals, what to do if the home model is stubborn, we will consider a little below. We see a number of typical signs manifested in the unsatisfactory appearance of the dishes after washing, which are not considered manifestations of breakdown:
Each owner has seen enough of a kitchen assistant, so they know how the equipment should work. Below are typical situations that signal minor malfunctions, simply calling for a do-it-yourself dishwasher repair.
The dishwasher seems to be working, water does not flow inside. It is worth starting with the previous point, having examined the hose, filter. The reason may be more prosaic, unpleasant: the inlet valve has broken. The accessory is relatively easy to change, you have to buy a new one. The part follows the intake filter. You will need to disassemble the case.
Defective pressure switch. Disconnect the element from the wire terminals, slightly blow the branch pipe to which the plastic tube fits. A slight clicking sound is heard when the device operates satisfactorily.
The machine stopped in the middle of a cycle, the case, in addition to the fuses and the presence of power, concerns a faulty working pump. Check the recirculation water filters first. The dishwasher will behave in a similar manner when slaughtered. The water intake path (see above), the heating element, the thermal relay are faulty.
VIDEO
The slow filling of the dishwasher with water is caused, in addition to the bottom of the inlet tract, by the insufficient pressure of the water supply system.
The water stopped heating. In addition to the obvious reasons - the breakdown of the thermostat, the heating element - the matter is in the pressure switch. Wrongly detects the water level, gives false commands to the dishwasher.
The door stopped closing. Check the balancing spring. In 90% of cases, the cause is found.
Whether it is the repair of built-in dishwashers, the repair of Kandy dishwashers, the process follows one technological route. It is important to understand: external differences in household appliances do not mean differences in internal ones.
Indesit dishwashers are affordable household appliances. The price of dishwashers of this brand is significantly lower than that of other brands. Therefore, they are in demand among consumers.
Malfunctions may appear in a year or two after purchasing an Indesit dishwasher. The electronics are very sensitive to voltage surges, which leads to burnout of the contacts and control board. Let's analyze the main causes of breakdowns and options for their elimination.
Indesit PMM error codes are collected and described in detail in a separate article.
It is impossible to predict the time of the breakdown, but it is necessary to find out the reason. After years of operation in the dishwasher, any of the units can "pass". How to identify the problem? See recommendations:
Pay attention to breakage symptoms. Is the machine malfunctioning or won't it turn on? All this points to the cause of the malfunction.
Look at the display. Often the self-diagnostic system gives an error in the form of a code. Decoding the code will indicate a breakdown.
What malfunctions are typical for Indesit dishwashers:
Failure of the heating element leads to the fact that the quality of dishwashing decreases. The machine does not heat the water. It is necessary to check the heater, its wiring. The electronic module, the heating element control triacs are also examined.
Abnormal operating noises may indicate wear on the motor bearing. This happens when the oil seal becomes unusable, the grease is washed out and the bearing begins to creak.It is necessary to completely disassemble the pump and replace the bearings. Also, noise occurs when glass enters the pump impeller.
Typical malfunction - the machine does not collect water. The problem lies in the filling system. Everything needs to be checked, cleaned, replaced.
When the dishwasher leaks, the door seal may be the cause. It could be worn out or damaged, then a replacement is needed. Often the Indesit dishwasher tank itself is leaking. Here you will need knowledge on how to disassemble the equipment and replace the tank.
Why does the Indesit dishwasher beep when working? The problem could be in the control module. Diagnostics and replacement of the part will be required.
If the water drain does not work, the drain pump, filter and hose must be checked.
Let's move on to finding faulty parts and repairing them.
You can repair your Indesit dishwasher yourself. To keep everything going well, follow our guidelines.
The heater often suffers from limescale and power surges. Due to low-quality water with a high salt content, plaque settles on the heating element. Over time, the scale layer becomes larger, which leads to overheating and combustion of the heating element. In addition, more energy is spent on heating the water.
Heater Replacement Instructions:
Unplug the dishwasher from the mains. Shut off the water supply.
Lay the car on its side.
Open the bottom cover. In the Indesit dishwasher, the heating element is connected to the pump.
Before removing the heater, check that it is working properly. Disconnect the heating element wiring, attach the multimeter probes to the contacts. If the part is defective, it must be replaced.
Unclench the heater clamps and disconnect it.
Disconnect the clamp and remove the hose from the pump to the container with water.
Disconnect the pump wiring.
Pull the pump and heater out of the case.
Disconnect the heating element by scrolling clockwise.
To install a new element, remove the seal from the pump and replace it. To make the heater easy to put on, lubricate the edges and seal with grease.
The heating element is installed in the reverse order, the removed clamps are replaced with new ones.
If the waste water is not flushed out after washing, check the drain system. How to do it:
Open the door of the machine, remove the trays and racks for dishes.
Pull out the filter at the bottom and the metal mesh (if present). Rinse the parts under running water.
If water accumulates in the place where the filter is installed, remove it with a sponge.
Push and pull the pump cover.
Inspect the impeller for blockages, clean.
To check if the pump is working, climb up to it through the bottom of the machine.
Disconnect the pump wiring and check the contacts with a multimeter. Replace if damaged. To remove the pump from the circulation pump, turn it clockwise.
A leak in the Indesit dishwasher is caused by a worn seal on the door. It is easy to replace it with your own hands:
open the hopper door;
disconnect the seal around the perimeter of the machine;
take a new gasket, insert it in place of the old one, distributing it around the perimeter;
remove excess sealant with a knife.
Carry out test work to check the seal in action.
To replace the lower door seal, proceed as follows:

The control module is a complex and expensive part. Each triac on the module is responsible for the operation of certain parts of the dishwasher. It is better to entrust the repair of the module to the master.
But if you want to inspect it and find the problem, here's a guide:
remove the front door panel as described above;
unscrew the bolts that hold the control panel;
put the panel on top of the case;
to disconnect the module, disconnect the black wire;
unscrew the screws holding the module on the panel;
disconnect the wiring; before repairing, it is better to take a photo of the location of the connectors.
You can inspect the part. The installation of a new module is carried out in the reverse order.
A long intake of water in the car indicates a blockage in the system. How to troubleshoot:
Turn off the water supply.
Unscrew the inlet hose from the PMM body.
Disconnect the other end of the hose from the communications.
Inspect it and rinse it under running water.
Pull out the strainer. It is installed upstream of the intake valve.
Clear it from the blockage.
The intake valve is also checked.
If there is no blockage, ring the electronic parts with a multimeter. In the event of a breakdown, the valve must be completely replaced.
A clogged dispenser tray is a common cause of poor dishwashing performance. If you do not clean the compartments of detergent and powder, deposits will become stony on the walls. It is difficult to remove it later, so after each wash, wipe the tray with a rag.
Also check the rocker nozzles for blockages:
remove the upper blade by unscrewing the fastener;
pull the bottom towards you;
clean the small holes with a toothpick, rinse under running water.
Now you can start the Indesit dishwasher and check the health of all elements.

Monitor the condition of your equipment, do not neglect the first symptoms of breakdown. It is much easier to fix the problem right away than to carry out a full repair later.
