Now we sink the right back a little and pull out the left edge of the tidy, there we are held by a yellow plug. The length of the wires on it allows you to pull it towards you, but the wiring can cling to the edge of the hole, so we act even more gently. The YELLOW connector is removed in the same way as the blue one, by pulling the locking bar up. Everything. We carefully remove the tidy to the right between the steering wheel and the torpedo. We turn off the four white self-tapping screws from the back side and you can gently lift the board and put it aside, only the speedometer remains.

We put it with the arrow up and first remove the black lid in the center, it is attached to the arrow on three internal protrusions, in the photo they are bad, but visible.

We turn on the soldering iron with a thin tip, WAIT FOR IT WILL BE HEATED and poke at the center of the arrow, touching the tip of the tip to the top of the metal axis. (you can't see her in the photo, but believe me, she is there, see the arrow)
IMPORTANT! Remember where the speedometer needle points, you can even put a line in front of it with a pencil to put it in the same position, otherwise the speedometer will screw up!
Warming up, slightly pull the arrow up, if the axle has warmed up well enough, the arrow is removed from it without problems. DO NOT TURN OFF THE SOLDERING IRON!

Now unscrew the two black screws and remove the tsyfer blat. Under it, two more screws hold a transparent diffuser, but for us this is already elementary. Not worth mentioning.

So, we got to the very heart of the speedometer, to its stepping motor [SM]. (Feel like a cardiologist!) In my case, the meters did not work due to a crack in the SM soldering. The probable reason is local overheating during installation in Germany in 1991.

The tidy consists of a case, all sorts of light bulbs, the gadgets themselves and the main board, it is in it that there is a concentration of almost all the troubles of the A80 tidy, and they come from the fact that for some reason it has a low quality of soldering, or rather the solder is incorrectly selected in my opinion, although it is probably a sin to scold her strongly, since she walks for 15-18 years to the main glitches.

Before getting into the tidy, you need to decide whether it’s the matter, since it happens that the problem lives in sensors and wiring and connectors, therefore, in order not to do unnecessary work, we will immediately get rid of the sensors, this is done elementary instead of the temperature sensor, a resistor is placed for the position "Hot" we put a resistor 31 Ohm and for the position "cold" 356 Ohm, if there is no such resistor, then you can use any other in this range, respectively, the display meter will show something in between. I wrote in detail here, and here the pinout of the sensor The gasoline display meter is checked in the same way -150 Ohm empty tank and 31 Ohm full tank. You can do without such a check if the temperature and fuel display meter does not work at the same time, this indicates a failed stabilizer or poor contact in the soldering - its panels. If the check showed that the matter is in the tidy, then we remove it, carefully disassemble and remove the board, I will not describe how to disassemble it, since it is elementary and anyone can handle it. As you can see, there is nothing complicated in it, the board is simple and it is not difficult to cope with its repair. The main glitches are due to aged and fallen off rations, glitches can be different, ranging from non-working devices to lighting. Therefore, we very carefully examine all the soldering, so as not to get confused, we start with the large connectors, then the "mothers" of the speedometer and tachometer, then the stabilizer (such a 3-foot garbage from the edge) and so on. For example, I took a standard board from (I took it without looking from the shelf), which has never been repaired, and what do we see? And we see this, on one connector, one contact has already fallen off, the scoundrel is hanging out, his neighbor is going to fall off, here is his photo, I circled the contact ....

So, the board was made, but some devices do not work anyway, this also happens, so the point is in the device itself, the devices can also be repaired, which we will now do. I will not paint the repair of the speedometer, because here it is superbly painted and even with pictures I have never repaired the tachometer, I did not have a chance, you can see they are so oak that they do not break at all J But the temperature and fuel indicators sometimes break, although not often due to its elementary design. The device can be disassembled very simply, first we remove the arrow, it is simply removed, you need to pry it off with a screwdriver, then the dial, we see two screws under the slot under it, unscrew them and remove the plastic ....
