DIY TV repair

In detail: DIY TV repair from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.

The other day I witnessed the analysis of the autumn-winter blockages in a friend's garage. A 14-inch Daewoo 14Q2 TV was brought to light. An attempt to turn it on did not lead to anything (even the LED indicating the presence of mains voltage did not light up), and the TV migrated to my trunk for repairs. Although receivers and televisions are not my element, I decided to take it.

Inspection of the inner world of the device immediately led to despondency - they were already digging in the TV. Instead of native resistors, there are Soviet ones, and the nominal value was selected by a parallel connection. I was especially surprised by the installation of capacitors: why the capacitors were installed by an unknown master not on the board, but at an altitude above it, remained a mystery to me. Obviously, this was not done at the factory)).

The rest of the external examination did not reveal any defects. The inclusion in the network did not give results, the method of tapping and shaking also proved to be ineffective. The fuse is not damaged. The power button is operational. During the examination, sounds resembling "poking" began to be heard from the side of the printed circuit board, which prompted the idea of the protection of the power supply. Therefore, it could be assumed that the power supply is still intact, and goes into protection due to faults in other functional units. Since there were no heating or destroyed parts, swollen electrolytic capacitors, we had to take the tester and ring the most "outstanding" elements. Suspicion was caused by the horizontal scan transistor D2499. Phoned in all directions, but did not show a short circuit. The inner world of this transistor looks like this:

Video (click to play).

I had to vypayat it and ring again. Voltage drops at junction B-K 20 milliVolts, B-E 19 milliVolts, K-E 5 milliVolts. The same readings of the device were in the opposite direction. Thus, it became clear that the transistor changed its parameters, but due to the fact that its breakdown did not occur and at least some internal resistance remained, no short circuit occurred. Otherwise, the power supply would certainly have suffered. In this case, however, the block safely goes to the defense.

After replacing the transistor, the switching on took place without excesses. By pressing the channel selector button on the front panel, the TV started up. There were concerns about malfunctions in the TDKS circuit and its strapping, but the lack of significant heating of the replaced horizontal scan transistor gave reason to believe that this problem can be considered solved. The capacitors floating in the air were lowered onto the board).

Since the TV is old, a lot of dust has accumulated inside and I had to do general prevention.

But the problems did not end there. It was not possible to switch the TV to standby mode - there was no reaction to the control panel. Having disassembled it, I discovered a crack in the board. I connected the dangling tracks by soldering them. In the future, such a remote control was not supposed to be used. The remote control is clearly under replacement. After the tracks were restored, the TV reacted to the commands from the remote control. However, the transition to standby mode was not indicated by the glow of the LED. Having called him, I found a break. After replacing the LED, everything worked as it should.

The defect is old, but I want to cite it as an example for novice repairmen.
The device came with a horizontal stripe, there is no frame scan. Checking the modes showed no power supply for TDA3653B - R422 3.3 Ohm 2W at + 25V is cut off, then according to the standard - checked the diode, the resistance to the case is within the normal range, replaced R422, made a test switch - the resistor heats up and smokes - TDA3653B is faulty.I immediately change it, turn on the TV and. the new microcircuit breaks down instantly. I re-solder the personnel one and measure its power supply without load - 50V. At this moment, the capacity C414 22.0x160V explodes, standing from the 4th leg of the TDKS to the body. It was her fault that the lowercase did not work in the mode and gave out inflated secondary springs. After replacing the capacity, the power supply returned to normal, 30V without load, replaced the TDA3653B again - everything worked beautifully.

Daewoo DMQ-2057 ch. C-50N
Prots M34300-230SP. When you turn on the OSD, there is, the channels are switched, the TV-video too, but as if there is no AV on the screen, no sound, only a gray screen. It responds adequately to all buttons on the front panel. Replaced litas in BP, and line by line. I checked the diodes for leakage (I found that they were leaking), on pin 28 of 4.5V according to the diagram. Supply voltages + 103v, + 12.5v - normal, litas changed. Replaced the video input switch 4053, soldering and replacing the LZYAS. At the very first start-up after 6-7 seconds. a normal picture and sound appeared, turned it off and everything died out. On LF from the video input everything is OK.
The reason for K / Z lita S113 - 1000uF / 16V, in the channel of the UPCHI feeder, is not a trick, but it may come in handy for someone.

Hello everyone. CRT TV being repaired today DAEWOO 21V1T with a "does not turn on" malfunction. The owner himself tried to repair the TV, found a blown fuse and tried to replace it. This replacement did nothing, since the new fuse also burned out.

The repair began, as always, with disassembly and visual inspection. I did not find anything suspicious, except for a blown fuse for 3.15 amperes.

He did not change it, but instead he simply sealed a 100-watt lamp and turned on the TV.

The lamp is sealed instead of a fuse. Lights up brightly when turned on

The lamp glowed brightly, and did not dim even after 15 seconds, which indicated a short circuit.

Why am I waiting exactly 15-30 seconds? Each CRT TV uses a CRT demagnetization system, which consists of a posistor and the loop itself. In order to work normally, the posistor must warm up, and it is at such a moment of "warming up" that it consumes a lot of energy, while our lamp glows brightly.

To turn off the picture tube demagnetization system itself, you just need to disconnect the loop connector from the board.

Disconnected demagnetization loop. The lamp does not light up, but there is a standby voltage on the TV

Disconnecting this connector, the lamp went out, and a standby voltage appeared on the TV.

Standby LED illuminated

This means that a posistor is the culprit for the breakdown.

He removed the top cover of the old posistor. One of the pills was burst

Posistors are of 2 types, for 2 and 3 legs. In our case, a 3-foot posistor is used. I don't buy these, but I always use 2-foot posistors, since for me they are the most versatile.

The picture shows how a 2-foot posistor is sealed instead of a 3-leg posistor. One end of the demagnetization loop is connected directly to the mains supply, the other end is connected to the power supply through the posistor.

The final touch was the installation of a new fuse, and a test run. The TV turned on and was handed over to the client after assembly.

In this article, I have already changed the posistor, and described its circuit.

Daewoo KR15U7FL chassis CP185G, was admitted with a diagnosis - extinguished

The reason is banal - a blown fuse. But, in Daewoo TVs, this is a typical defect.
It is expressed in the periodic blowing of the mains fuse. The reason is the posistor of the demagnetization loop.I don't know for sure whether the Koreans save on the loop, or they have special posistors, but they burn with enviable regularity and everything is after a guarantee Image - DIY TV repair

Image - DIY TV repair

Craftsmen already know this, but beginners and repairing their own TV should keep in mind -
in a Daewoo with a blown fuse, look at the reverse side of the board - the darkening under the posistor is noticeable by eye. Better just change the posistor not looking.

The fuse I personally immediately put the usual one instead of the round one, since there are enough boards for disassembly now.

Sometimes, as in my case, in addition to the fuse and the posistor, the firmware also flies. This may be due to a voltage drop.

Entering the service mode Daewoo chassis CP185G

Perhaps, after flashing, you will need to adjust it in the service mode. To enter it, you need to relatively quickly do a number of tricky procedures. Image - DIY TV repair

Switch to channel 91 - Press the image menu button and remove the sharpness to zero - Press the Menu button twice to turn off the graphics - Sequentially press the red button, then the green button on the remote control, and then the MENU button.

To exit the menu, turn it off with the power button.

21.) DAEWOO 2195 TXT when the remote control is turned off, the DR LED lights up, the sound disappears, and the image remains as if nothing had happened. The standby relay in the 110V circuit is faulty, the contacts are stuck. Replaced with REC53 from 4USCT - it works!

22.) TV DAEWOO 20Q2. The image shows vertical, crescent-shaped light stripes (especially noticeable when the AV input is on without signal). The defect disappeared only after replacing the FSA36012 line tr-ra with
proprietary analogue of HR.

23.) DAEWOO DMQ-2195 TXT. Chassis CP-330 This also includes the following models: DMQ-14D1, DMQ-20D1, DTX-14A1, DMQ-21M2, DMQ-21A1, B1, C1, DMQ-2072, DMQ-2075, as well as their modifications (along the CRT ).
Does not turn on, mains fuse is lit. When checking: pierced 2SD1555 in the power supply unit. Sometimes the TDA4601 “dies” with it. If these are just “miracles” of the electrical grid, then replacing with new parts solves the problem in 90% of customer requests. But there are cases associated with the poor quality of the resistors R802 or R803 (stand in series, nominal 150 kOhm 0.5 W). Usually one of them goes off into the cliff. Because even experienced craftsmen manage to burn 2-3 transistors, get lost and, inserting a bug, fire another 2-3 bridges and a bunch of 3.3 Ohm x10W resistors, and coming into a frenzy from such a (seemingly) easily fixable malfunction, they begin to sin on the impulse. do not hurry. Ring the indicated resistors - this rarely happens, but the harm is great. Your experiments with a power supply unit on this chassis are fraught with the loss of the processor and controller. Thus, the chain of checks before the first start becomes as follows: fuse, bridge, R831 (ceramics), thermal, C807 (150mFx450v), short circuit in the secondary circuit of the pulse transformer, Q801 (2SD1555) and R802, R803 (do not be lazy to poke with an ohmmeter).

24.) DAEWOO DMQ-2195 TXT and its clones: uncertain BP startup. Over time, it stops running altogether.
Defect: disgusting capacity C808 (3900 pF). Install more securely.

25.), it is necessary to add that this malfunction (voltage acceleration due to loss of capacitance C414 22mF X 160V) is one of the pathologies of DAEWOO. Take this seriously, because there are many cases of combustion of the tube glow. And if you are lucky, then get ready to replace TDA8362B, DW-167MN02-05, 24CO8, TDA3653B, stabilizers + 12V and + 8V, Q402, TDKS, a large number of diodes and transistors in the + 5V circuit and, as a rule, all electrolytes in the secondary circuit lowercase tr-ra. Take it as a rule - DAEWOO got caught - even if with an unworn picture tube - check the voltage on the 4th leg of the scribe (it should be + 120v)! And it is better, without checking, to change this container to a more recent and reliable one. And then wipe the CRT. And your conscience will be clear.

26.) DAEWOO DMQ-2195 TXT. The TV is clearly weird. In easy cases, when you step through the channels, it gives out random program numbers. In advanced cases - violation of OSD display. A font that resembles Japanese characters (or Korean) may appear. But we still will not study them - therefore we change the XT 01 quartz (27mHz) until we wait for periodic freezes of the controller. And alt + ctrl + del doesn't help here (although Koreans THIS
replaced with a network button).

27.) DAEWOO DMQ-2195 TXT. At high volume levels - an unpleasant bounce. It is necessary to slightly release the kinescope mount and lay something, at least a dense packing cardboard (S = 2-3mm) from the boxes from under
computer iron measuring 3-4 cm x 6-8 cm, between the kinescope and the body at the level of the middle horizontal on both sides, and fix the kinescope. Make sure that your "spacers" are not visible from the front
panels. ))))

28.) DAEWOO DMQ-2195 TXT, DMQ-2072, DMQ-2075, DMQ-20D1, DTX-14A1, DMQ-21M2 ... etc. Chassis CP-330. The TV was designed for Europe with its power grid, but it got to us. Owners of these models who live in villages especially feel the difference with Europe. Without latters and network stabilizers, in winter, and even in the evening,
they can only click the relay, giving a command from the remote control. That's all. The voltage range is here laid in the limit

250v. We replace the resistor R814 (2.7kOhm) in the TDA4601 (5pin) harness with 3.9kOhm. Now your TV will work even from

140v. As, however, he should be.

29.) DAEWOO DMQ-2570, DMQ-2595, DMQ-2999. Chassis CP-760. Teletext is not displayed. Often the reason for this is a malfunction of the X901 quartz at 13.875 mHz (5 pin CF72306).
Another common malfunction is chronic freezes when entering or exiting teletext mode, when working with OSD.
Here the reason is poor-quality zener diodes on the I2C bus - D716, D717 (5.6V). The same disease haunts
Daewoo TV and next generation 14-20-21Q1T, 14-20-21T1T and others with CP-375 chassis.

30.) DAEWOO TV does not turn on. If you listen closely, you can hear weak, episodic squeaks. These are attempts to run lowercase. The overloaded power supply unit beeps. In the collector circuit of the line transistor Q403, next to the transformer, there is a small, often blue, capacitor C409 (8.2nF x 1600v). It is his fault, he shot himself and went to the KZ. The recommendation is to destroy and replace with a better one and a different color.)) For lack of a replacement at hand, just bite off, but do not forget to replace it later - the size has changed. And not just size.
The TV does not turn on. FUSE is on. The powerful field worker Q806 often breaks through. Reasons - throws in the net or mustachioed friends. Without soldering, you can measure the interfoil of the transistor with an ohmmeter. In case of breakdown, there is usually a short circuit. At the same time, we study insects, which often get stuck in the same place and meet painful death from a pulse voltage of 450-500V. A suitable replacement is IRFPC50 (N-channel, Usi = 600V, Ic = 11A, P = 180W). Give the animals to the owner for a solemn funeral.

31.) Daewoo 20T2. Defect: Does not turn on. PSU on STR5707. A detailed check yielded nothing, replacing the PWM controller did nothing either. Trial alteration of the limiting circuits (resistor between the legs of the STR 'ki) on
the denominations taken from the LG circuit immediately revealed a defect. TDKS !! P.S. During repairs, it is imperative to discharge the filtering capacitor, since any attempt to dial the power supply radio elements immediately leads to a full STR output.

32). DAEWOO DMQ-2127. Periodically, it spontaneously switches to the LF input mode.
Video signal drops out. Malfunction in the IC of the TC4053VR switch.

33). DAEWOO 20Т2.
- not included from DR. There is no + 12V power on the TDA8183 IC regulator. The regulator was not at hand and the IMS KRE8B was additionally supplied.
- Does not display service information on the screen. At pin 45 of the DW370M4 processor, there is a constant component of about 2 volts. This is exactly the case when you can try not to change the processor. A 750 Ohm resistor was connected to the case and an emitter follower was installed at the sync pulse output from the processor leg.

34). DAEWOO DMQ-2127. After a few minutes of work, the image disappears, the sound remains. Replacing the IC TC4053BP, TA8659AN and the processor did not work. After a careful study of the video signal, it turned out that ABL is triggered from a line transformer and blocks the brightness and contrast signals, due to a periodic break in the capacitance C423 0.1 μF x 100 V from ABL to the case.

35). DAEWOO DMQ-2056. Sound at maximum. The scale on the screen is adjustable. There are volume control pulses on the 10th leg of the М34300N4-230SP processor (it should be noted that they are present only when the antenna is turned on). The volume is not regulated from the radio channel unit with the TA8701AN IC. Replacement required.

36.) Daewoo DMQ-1457M the defect was as follows: at first the sound came with a strong background - the feeling of the NTSC system turned on, then the buttons on the front panel stopped functioning while the orange NTSC LED was backlit.When you pressed the volume +, channel + buttons, the Video indicator was highlighted. Treatment - replacing the C964 capacitance, replacing two diodes suitable for legs 27 and 25 of the M34300M4-230SP processor - 1.5 kΩ leaked in the opposite direction.

37.) Daewoo. The defect is similar to theme 1069. I don't write the model. It looks like it is typical for many, where there is a percentage. M34300-230SP. The TV turns on in “AV” mode. The adjustments work. Replacing the processor gave nothing. A decrease in the amplitude of the pulses on the processor legs (about 2V), involved in turning on the “AV” command, was noticed. The diode in this circuit turned out to be a leak, the anode to the case. Replacing it completely restored the operation of the TV. Although testing similar diodes on other circuits revealed another diode with a leak. It's just that the defect has not yet appeared due to a small leak, but the future was prevented.

38.) DAEWOO 21Q2M chassis CP-370 with percent DW370ASM3 came after a thunderstorm, there is no start of the horizontal scan, the volume noise is regulated. Reading the memory by the programmer showed that the memory is clean, one continuous FF. In addition to the firmware, the TDA8374A is out of order. After rewriting the memory and replacing the video processor, the TV worked, the geometry, frame size and centering did not match. To enter the SERV chassis CP-370, you need the R-30SVC service panel. You can enter from the MAK 2002 maxi universal remote control code 1239. Input - output SERVICE button 1- - / - adjust the frame size -V and + V with pressed SHIFT button vertical centering -P and + P pressed SHIFT button horizontal centering DEC button and LOCK while holding down the SHIFT button AGC adjustment 1- - / - and 2- - / - while holding down the SHIFT button S-COR buttons A (red) and B (green) while holding down the SHIFT button V-SLOP buttons C (yellow) and D (blue) with SHIFT R pressed TV / SAT and ERASE buttons SHIFT G RADIO and M / S pressed with SHIFT B LNB and H / V pressed with SHIFT pressed LOCK button starts automatic AFT tuning

39.) Daewoo DMQ-20D1. No sound. Defective TDA7056A. The microcircuit is an ULF with a bridge output. In most cases, only one shoulder fails and is damaged. Therefore, the microcircuit can not be changed, but the loudspeaker can be connected to the whole output through the 470.0x25V capacitor, the second output of the loudspeaker to the case. When replacing the TDA7056A with the TDA7056B, the 3rd leg must be decoupled by direct current. Instead of a jumper, install a 0.1 capacitor and exclude the resistor on the case.

40.) Daewoo, Shivaki. Radio channel on TA8701AN.
1 - The sound is either absent at all, or at the maximum. Replacement of TA8701AN.
2 - the reception deteriorates periodically on all channels. The reason is ring cracks on the AGC trimmer.

Without video and audio equipment, few people can imagine a full-fledged home, and it is precisely because of regular and intensive use that this type of equipment is most often subject to breakdowns. Repair of TVs can be done at home, if you call a master, or do all the work yourself.

Before starting repair work, you should determine what exactly broke in the TV. In any case, this will greatly facilitate both the independent repair process and the clarification of the essence of the problem to the TV technician.

The main types of faults:

  1. The device does not turn on. In both CRT models and more modern LCD TVs, a malfunction occurs due to a blown fuse. But in different devices, it can be represented by different details. At the same time, the problem may be a burnt out diode bridge; Image - DIY TV repairPhoto - kinescope
  2. The potential of imported and domestic projection TVs is very often lost.A posistor is responsible for this function;
  3. Plasma monitor breakdowns. These include color changes, swings, interference, or dark (light) streaks on color TVs during broadcast;
  4. However, sometimes problems with turning on or operating certain functions are due to a faulty power cord or outlet.

Of all these troubles, the most difficult to fix is screen breakage. For example, if light reflections appear on the monitor after a shock or water ingress on the matrix, then it is better to immediately take the device to a service center, where it can be repaired under warranty.

Photos - details

But most of the repair work can be done easily with your own hands. Let's consider in order how to carry out urgent repair of home LCD and LED TVs Thomson (Thomson), Sharp (Sharp), Samsung, Panasonic (Panasonic) and other models:

  1. The difference between the above types of TVs lies in the different backlighting, but in principle, their operating schemes are very similar. In LSD TVs, the monitor is illuminated by fluorescent lamps, and in LED - by LEDs. Therefore, if the monitor does not turn on, you immediately need to check whether the backlight is receiving power;
  2. Regardless of the brand, the back panel is removed. It is screwed to the base with screws. After that, you need to remove the network power wires from the matrix (first unplug the device from the outlet); Image - DIY TV repairPhoto - rear panel
  3. To check their performance, you need to connect the most ordinary lamp to the contacts. Most often used at 100 watts;
  4. It should be noted that modern Toshiba (Toshiba), Sony (Sony), Philips (Philips) can connect several backlight sources to the circuit, so you will need to check each one separately; Image - DIY TV repairPhoto - matrix
  5. For testing, the matrix is removed, a lamp is connected to the contacts and the power wire is connected to the network. If it is working properly, then the lamp will light up. If not, then you will need to replace the cable or repair individual threads.

In addition, a certain area of the backlight may burn out.

In different models of television equipment, the lamp is replaced in different ways. For example, for many Daewoo, Akai and Hitachi TVs, to dismantle a burned-out lamp, you will need to remove the matrix from the panel and reinstall the element on it. At the same time, for some Rolsen and Funai, it will be possible to change a burning light bulb or diode without dismantling it. Depending on the design, you will need to bend (unsolder) the contacts, remove the gasket and carefully remove the burnt element from the case. In its place, a completely similar lamp is installed, both in terms of parameters and dimensions.

Photo - LCD monitor device

Many Chinese models of television equipment - CTV, VAO, BBK, when disassembling, you can see light stripes on the matrix. They indicate a breakdown of this particular element. Due to some external factors, the part stopped working and oxidized. In this case, you need to select an element that is identical in terms of performance and install it in the place of the faulty one.

Unlike old stationary CRT or portable models, plasma and ED versions are very rarely repairable if the screen breaks. This is a very time-consuming process, so not even all professional workshops undertake such work. In most cases, if the monitor is cracked, it will be cheaper and easier to buy a new TV set than to repair the old one.

Video: PHILIPS TV repair

Despite the total use of plasma, many owners still have more outdated CRT TVs (for example, Vityaz, Elt, Rubin, Horizon, JVC). Step-by-step instructions on how to carry out repair work on electron beam models:

Tips on how to check the TV posistor may be different, but any professional telemaster will recommend that you measure the resistance between its contacts. The part has four of them, that is, two pairs. For one honey, the resistance can be up to 600 ohms, while the other's resistance is in the range of 1-5 ohms.But this is only a theoretical check; for a more accurate diagnosis, you will have to solder the posistor.

In addition, capacitors and transistors often burn out in CRT TVs. They can even be diagnosed visually. They swell or change color on the board. If you see that the capacitor is blackened or cracked, then it must be replaced with a working analog.

Do-it-yourself TV repair is a responsible business, since today a large number of different models (LCD, LSD, CRT) are presented on the market, each of which has its own technological features. Therefore, the approach to each type of TV is individual; in some cases, special skills will be required (knowledge of electronics, experience with a soldering station).

Before proceeding with the repair of television equipment, it is necessary to find out the cause of the problem.

The most common problems are:

  1. TV screen does not turn on - this can happen with an old picture tube screen and with the most modern television panel. Basically, this symptom is characteristic of a blown fuse. When repairing, it should be borne in mind that the appropriate fuse must be selected for each model. And also experts recommend paying attention to the diode bridge, power supply, wire, perhaps the cause of the malfunction lies in these elements. Read also what to do if Samsung TV does not turn on.
  1. Faint, barely noticeable picture - this kind of breakdown happens with LCD / LCD monitors. The most likely cause of the malfunction: faulty diodes, device backlighting.
  2. There is no sound, the screen "wheezes" - most likely, the sound amplifier or microcircuit is out of order. Also read what to do if there is sound, but there is no picture.
  3. Monitor is on, no picture - Perhaps the cause of the problem is in the video processor or in the receiving unit.

You should be aware that if a darkening of the board or rupture of elements is detected during a visual inspection of television equipment, then it is not recommended to immediately start replacing parts. Since such factors indicate a short circuit that could have occurred in another section of the TV. Therefore, if you do not eliminate the cause of the short circuit, but simply change the failed elements, then the situation will repeat itself.

To repair television equipment, the following tools and equipment may be required:

  • Screwdriver Set;
  • hex keys (in rare cases);
  • pliers;
  • soldering station (for repairing modern monitors);
  • screen layout (can be downloaded on the Internet);
  • multimeter;
  • oscilloscope.

Many LCD screen problems can be dealt with on your own. But you should know that these screens require more careful handling than, for example, CRT TVs.

First of all, the user needs to study the instructions for his model, and only after that start repairing the LCD or LED screen. You should know that LCD TVs use fluorescent bulbs for backlighting, while LEDs use LEDs.

Image - DIY TV repair

The TV may not function due to lack of power, to check this, you need to do the following:

  1. Open the back cover of the LCD TV with tools.
  2. Disconnect the wires that are connected to the device matrix.
  3. Connect a working light bulb to the contacts.
  4. Some panels have more than one light source, in which case they must be tested as well. This can be done as follows: pull out the TV matrix and connect it to the network, it will immediately become clear which lamp is out of order.

After the faulty luminaire is found, it must be replaced. This procedure should be carried out as carefully as possible. In most cases, the lamp can be taken out even without removing the matrix - you need to move the protection elements aside and take out the burned-out part using a soldering station. Then a new lamp is installed in the same way.An important rule is that the new lamp must be completely identical to the old one.

Another common problem with these models is damage to the monitor. But in this case, it is not advisable to repair LCD TVs, since it is easier to buy a new screen. This test scheme can also be used to repair plasma televisions of all types. Read also how to fix the LED backlight yourself.

Each manufacturer has its own weak points, so below is a selection of the most common LCD screen breakdowns.

Often, users of this brand are faced with such a problem that when turned on, the device beeps without interruption. This symptom usually indicates that a leak has occurred. It is recommended to try replacing the preout stage diode.

Another common problem is that the monitor turns on and off itself. The main reason for this breakdown is a failed transistor, it is necessary to replace it. It is recommended that such malfunctions be eliminated on their own only by people who have experience in repairing television equipment.

DIY Philips TV repair is recommended if the problem is minor: settings are lost, cable replacement is required.

If the breakdown is complex, then it is better to entrust its elimination to specialists who will not only professionally perform repairs, but also issue a guarantee. Therefore, if the repaired screen stops working again, the user may demand a refund.

LG flat screen owners may have a problem saving settings. Such a problem does not require contacting the masters, you can repair the LG TV yourself. It is enough to switch the device to another operating mode, and all settings will be saved.

As well as in the case of other LCD models, if the problem is serious, then it is not recommended to repair an LG TV with your own hands, it is better to contact a specialist.

Despite the fact that today most consumers prefer the most modern plasmas, CRT screens are still in demand. These TVs have their advantages: they are inexpensive, easy to operate, and the quality of the transmitted picture is still high.

The main problems with CRT devices:

  • the CRT TV does not turn on - just like on devices of a different type, first of all, you need to check the integrity of the fuses;
  • a diode bridge malfunction is a common problem with CRT receivers, you can fix the TV only after making a "ringing", you will need a multimeter from the equipment;
  • breakage of the posistor is considered the most serious problem; in order to check, it is necessary to turn off the power circuit of the TV, then start it again. After, observe the lamp, if it goes out, it means that the posistor is out of order. First of all, you need to adjust the resistance of the network, and then replace the part;
  • burnout of a transistor or capacitor - such a malfunction can be easily replaced by visual inspection (on black carbon parts), repair is carried out by replacing the part.

Below is a list of problems encountered by owners of CRT TVs.

  1. The Rubin TV buzzes loudly when connected - most likely, the photodetector needs to be replaced.
  2. The ruby does not turn on, the indicator does not light up - voltage surges in the transistor.
  1. The Horizon TV does not have a blue tint, as well as the white balance is disturbed - this is mainly due to a break in the resistor.
  2. There is sound, no image - the cause of the problem lies in poor contact of the power connector of the screen board.It is recommended to use a soldering iron to solder the harness into the Horizon TV board.
  1. The screen does not turn on - there is a problem with the power supply.
  2. A horizontal strip appears on the monitor - repairing a Vityaz TV consists in fixing a problem in the frame scan microcircuit.

Since the malfunction of the power supply is one of the most common problems of all types of TVs, it is necessary to study it in more detail.

Since all models of LCD monitors do not have fundamentally different design differences, therefore, the diagram below can be applied to all TVs (Toshiba, Horizon, Samsung, Sony, Rubin).

Repair of monitors equipped with a picture tube, for example, such as (ruby, sharp 2002sc, sony trinitron, vvk), as well as repair of Samsung TV, Panasonic. always starts checking the power supply.

Testing is carried out using an incandescent lamp, but before performing the procedure, it is necessary to disconnect Sharp c2002sc, Samsung or another screen from the load (horizontal cascade). The horizontal scan voltage can vary from 110 to 150 V, it depends on the size of the picture tube. It is required to find a sweep filter capacitor in the TV circuit. Next, you will need to connect a light bulb, in order to remove the load, it is necessary to unsolder the choke and the fuse through which the JV element consumes power. This scheme is used for sharp screens since 2002sc.

After that, connect the power adapter to electricity and measure the voltage, if the values exceed the norm, you will have to check the feedback circuit of the power supply. If the power supply unit is in good condition, then the light bulb is removed and all the elements are soldered into place. This is the basic information on how to repair a TV with your own hands.
