Trimming the heel of the thermoelement rod allows the temperature of the coolant to be increased to 85-90 ° C. We shorten the rod successively, by 1 mm. This should be done carefully, since its metal is quite soft. Each time after trimming, you need to install a thermostat in the car and observe the temperature regime of the liquid while driving. If it does not satisfy you, the stem is shortened by another 1 mm. And so on until the temperature in the cooling system reaches 90-92 ° C, and the air in the cabin warms up to the required temperatures.
You can replace the entire thermal insert. Ideal for a standard Grants thermostat, Wahler inserts are suitable: 3017.87 D (at 87 ° C) and 3091.92V (at 90 ° C). The insert changes together with the spring. Such modernization is carried out on thermostats manufactured by BEHR (which is used in the new BAZ-2190 car). There is no need to carry out any modifications and adjustments of new parts. The BEHR thermostat is collapsible, and the Wahler "thermos" will have to be cut with a hacksaw in order to remove the thermocouple.
Alternatively, you can use a Daewoo Nexia, Renault Logan or Vernet 4898.92 part as a "donor", but the diameter of the thermoelement of the latter is slightly larger than required and requires adjustment. This replacement is not possible for Luzar models.
Some car enthusiasts who have made such a revision claim that fuel consumption, albeit insignificantly, has decreased.
Another modification of the "thermos" on the VAZ-2190 is the device for the heating circuit of the throttle assembly. So some motorists insure themselves against freezing of the throttle valve. For this, an additional threaded hole is made in the part cover, where a fitting is welded through a copper washer to drain the heated liquid. The “thermos” mounting studs will also have to be increased.

But the reviews about this revision were too flattering) And finally I, as they say, “matured”))

They put a basin under the bottom, pulled off the supply hose ... How it gushed like a waterfall! )) Filled everything that is possible. Then they unscrewed the thermostat from the unit - the same amount came out)
As a result, the total loss was about 1 liter. Well, and then the lyrics - they took off the thermos, undermined the Vakhler spring for a better fit, put the element. I went in like a glove) As if I was standing there. Assembled, put the gasket, the thermostat in place. They did not smear with sealant, because then (if you suddenly have to dismantle it again) you will take away his horseradish. The hoses were screwed on, antifreeze was poured in, and started. Everything works great! It heats up exactly to 92 degrees, then the thermostat opens completely, the temperature rises a little more to 93-94, then drops to 89-90. Then again in a circle. Fine! What you need! We checked the stove - hot air, everything was as it was before the replacement. This means there is no traffic jam. There are no leaks anywhere. Actually, he paid the money and left.
Now I want to say a few words about sensations. Guys, this is just a fairy tale! First, the stove: now it does not just fry, it Fries like hell! )) Secondly, almost all engine vibrations were gone in the twentieth century. I think if you digest the resonator corrugation for a longer one, they will disappear altogether. Well, as other users of the drive declare, the consumption should drop by 1-1.5 liters. I can't say anything about this yet.
