In detail: do-it-yourself repair of a vaz 2110 fuel pump injector from a real master for the site my.housecope.com.
In the “top ten”, as in other cars, where power plants for fuel are installed, the fuel pump serves as an element that pumps fuel in the “fuel tank motor” scheme. It supplies gasoline to the metering component, the function of which, depending on the device of the fuel complex, is played either by a carburetor or an injector in the system of injection engines.
In cars of different types of fuel supply, they use an electric fuel pump injector, or a mechanical fuel pump on carburetor modifications. Accordingly, in order to buy a gasoline pump, you need to know what type of gasoline units are installed and operated in a car that requires repair of the fuel system.
Buying VAZ 2110 gas pumps, the price of which is affordable for most of our motorists, should be factory made. Of course, this part for an injection engine is structurally more complicated and costs more, but the price limits are very reasonable and permissible within their boundaries. In addition, the fuel pump injector, the price of which is higher than the analogue on the carburetor engine, is technologically more complicated and has a number of significant advantages.
Product diagram for injection engines:
Mechanical products are used in cars with a carburetor fuel system, where fuel is transmitted under low pressure, and electric petrol pumps in vehicles with injection fuel equipment, where gasoline is supplied under high pressure.
1. Fuel pump on vehicles equipped with a carburetor as a metering device. The drive lever (pusher) is in constant frictions, but the shift of the diaphragm to the lower plane occurs only when it is necessary to fill the product chamber with fuel. The return spring moves the diaphragm to the top position, thereby supplying fuel to the metering unit. The composition of the mechanical fuel pump:

2. Electric fuel pump for injection cars. Such a device is similar in principle to the mechanical prototype: the core is drawn into an electromagnetic valve until the contact group opens, blocking the flow of electric current. The composition of this product:

We inform beginners where the VAZ 2110 fuel pump is located: it should be looked for under the car's aft seat cushion.
Unit malfunction symptoms:
a metallic howl or increased noise during its operation is determined by ear;
the product does not pump fuel or contacts do not work;
the power of the power unit is sharply reduced.
First of all, we check the pressure of the fuel pump “tens” in the common fuel system by connecting the pressure gauge to the fitting. When the pressure in the product is more than 3.3 kgf / cm2, it becomes clear that the malfunction is a defect in the pressure regulator, which requires replacement. If the pressure gauge readings are less than 2.8 kgf / cm2, it is necessary to replace the fuel filter of the gasoline pump, due to which a defect occurred. If the car continues to fail, it is advisable to dismantle the fuel block and clean the fuel filter mesh.
In other cases, the fuel pump VAZ 2110 injector is replaced, becauserepair of the product did not give positive results. Also, when checking this electrical device, it is required to test the fuel pump relay, which is prone to elementary "sticking". It is not superfluous to check the unit fuse, which may also blow out and require replacement.
Such a replacement is carried out in the following cases:
failure or incorrect readings of the fuel sensor;
weak throughput effect or defect in the fuel intake grid;
failure of the electric petrol pump.
From the tools you will need a screwdriver and a "10" socket wrench with a knob.
Reduce the pressure in the fuel supply system.
Disconnect 2 hoses in turn using the lock for the fuel supply hoses.
Disconnection should be carried out slowly, without the use of unnecessary force, so that the unions of the fuel block remain intact.
Unscrew 8 nuts around the circumference of the pressure ring and remove it.
A wire with negative polarity is attached to one of the nuts; it must be removed carefully.
We take out the electric pump unit from the fuel tank, tilting it a little, for the safety of the lever of the fuel level indicator sensor, otherwise it will give incorrect parameters.
Remove the rubber sealing ring of the fuel block. If its properties are lost, it is necessary to replace the product.
Install the product in reverse order.
Important: during installation, the installation arrow on the cover of the electric pump must point towards the stern of the car!
Important: when installing the fuel hoses, be guided by the direction of the fuel supply indicated by the arrows!
Many people ask, where is the VAZ 2110 fuel pump relay? We explain that this electronic device is located in a special recess on the side of the front passenger on the floor. It is necessary to unscrew the plastic cover, there will be 3 relays. Closer to the hood is the part you are looking for.
An unscheduled replacement of a mechanical type device takes place in the following order:
We dismantle the air filter.
We remove the fuel supply pipeline to the fuel pump.
First, we relax the tightening of the clamp.
Remove the fuel supply line to the carburetor.
Unscrew the fasteners of the product.
Installation is in the reverse order. At the same time, do not forget to look at the products with arrows showing the direction of fuel flow to the carburetor.
The question is often asked, how to check the VAZ 2110 unit in operation? To do this, with the pump lever depressed, tighten the screws on the cover and test the carburetor accelerator pump.
Welcome! Gasoline pump - it is also called a fuel pump, but the most key word in these terms is, of course, a pump, thanks to this unit, gasoline that is in the gas tank of a car under pressure is supplied to the car engine, and it is already driven by this gasoline that works, therefore this part is very important when the engine is running and if it fails, then the car may stop starting altogether, or it will start, but it will lose all its throttle response and power and thus it will become poorly accelerated and will consume more gasoline, and why will it consume more gasoline in this case you ask? Explaining! On a faulty pump, gasoline is supplied to the engine under different pressures (Usually it is less than what it should be, but it should be about 3.8-4.0 kgf / cm2.), So the car starts to drive badly and in this regard, you constantly have to put pressure on gas, and thus, it turns out that the harder you press on the gas (and it’s not easy to press, because the car will not go), the more gasoline in the tank is consumed.
Note! To repair the pump, you will need tools, namely: You will need a screwdriver and wrenches (Their set), in addition, we recommend stocking up on thin pliers (But you can do without them, but it's more convenient with them)!
Summary:
Where is the fuel pump located? Many times, in other articles, we have given an answer to this question, but it sounds like this: “On all front-drive injection cars that are produced at VAZ, this pump is in one place, namely in the gas tank of the car, and the gas tank is at this time in the lowest part under the rear seat cushion, and therefore if you need to see this pump, you first have to remove the cushion from the rear seat (As shown in the photo below) "and after that you will see a carpet with a factory square cut, you will need it by hand remove and you will see a metal cover that closes the gas pump and protects it from dirt (This cover in the photo has already been removed), you will have to remove this cover and after that you can see the gas pump itself and the fuel pipes that are connected to it (You can see this picture in the photo below).
When do you need to repair a gas pump? First, let's start with the fact that this pump also includes a fuel level sensor and a filter (Indeed, the pump has a filter, and there is also a separate fuel filter, but it is already installed separately from the pump), this filter is also called a mesh when it gets dirty (it gets dirty from bad gasoline in which there is dirt), the car starts to drive worse and dips appear, what about the fuel level sensor you ask?
Here, too, everything is very commonplace, if it fails, first the fuel level begins to show the arrow on the instrument panel incorrectly, it may also generally fall to the very bottom (although there will be gasoline in the tank) and lie there until you change the sensor itself ...
Well, in conclusion, let's say about the pump itself (In general, it would be more correct to call the article: "Replacing the fuel pump module", because everything that we will consider here is all a module, and the pump itself also stands separately in this module, from the sensor and from this grid), if it fails, the car will also start to drive worse, the pressure in the power supply system will drop (Fuel will be supplied to the engine more slowly), you may also experience dips during acceleration and even twitching.
Note! Before you say with certainty that it is the pump that has become unusable, you can check if your fuel filter is dirty and not the pump, but the filter itself needs to be replaced, or due to dirty nozzles, in principle, all the same symptoms can be, so that with a greater likelihood of sinning on the pump, first check the pressure in the power supply system and finally, thanks to this check, you will be able to identify the malfunction! (You can study how to check the pressure in an article called: "Checking the pressure in the fuel rail at a VAZ"
Disassembly: 1) Before proceeding with disassembly, respectively, you will need to remove the pump itself, for this you will need wrenches and one screwdriver, for more detailed instructions on how to remove this pump, see the article: "Replacing the fuel pump on VAZ cars"!
Note! Do not forget to look into the car's tank when you remove the pump, just at the very bottom of it there is a storage glass, you can still see it in the big photo below, it sometimes detaches from the pump module and remains in the tank, so it will need to be removed from there and installed back on the pump in its place (it is held by the clips), but you are going to disassemble the pump so you do not need to install it, and if it remains on it, then pulling it down, disconnect it and thereby remove it!
2) Now that the pump is removed, re-take the screwdriver in your hand and use it to unscrew the two side screws (indicated by the arrows in the photo below) that attach the fuel level sensor to the pump module, after unscrewing it will be possible to remove the sensor from the module and put it aside.(At the end of the sensor there is a float installed, you can see it in a small photo below, so take a look at this float, it must be intact and not wear out, otherwise, for example, if there is a hole in it, then this sensor is no longer correct to show the fuel level will be and you will have to replace it with a new one)
Note! And also do not deform the sensor itself and be careful with the thrust that holds the float, because if it breaks, the fuel will also not be displayed, and when it is bent, the fuel level will be displayed incorrectly, so be careful with the sensor!
3) Then find two pads of wires (Both are indicated by arrows), one of these pads is connected to the bracket, and the other to the pump itself (Rather, to its electric motor) and disconnect both of these pads, they are held by the clamps that are present on them, so before than to pull for them with all force, look at their clips and squeeze them and thereby disconnect both pads so that they do not interfere with disassembly.
4) Next, start removing the fuel pump mesh (This is the same filter that was discussed above), for this, pry it with a screwdriver as shown in the photo below, and after it moves down a little, put the screwdriver aside and gently disconnect it with your hand, when it is disconnected, use a screwdriver to remove the lock washer that is in it (indicated by the red arrow) and straighten it when it is removed and put it in its place.
5) Next, you will need to remove the housing inside which the electric motor of the pump itself is located (The housing is made in black, see the photo below), for this, press the housing down by hand (the springs will prevent pressing, but overcoming the force of these springs still press the housing) and remove the cotter pin that fixes the pump and thereby remove the housing with the electric motor.
6) Then unscrew the two screws (indicated by the arrows in the first photo) that secure the cover and then remove it (see photo 2), when the cover is removed, remove the rubber grommet after it (see photo 3) and thus after these operations, remove the fuel pump electric motor itself from the housing (see photo 4) and replace it with a new one if it suddenly becomes unusable.
Note! Inside the housing where the electric motor of the fuel pump is located, also remove the rubber bushing with your hands, if you find deformation on it, for example cracks, breaks, then replace this bushing with a new one!
Assembly: All parts are assembled in the same way as disassembled, but only in the reverse order of removal.
Important! On cars of the tenth family, different engines were used, ranging from 8 valve carburetor and ending with 16 valve injection 21124, respectively, and the gas pumps on all these engines were different, for example, this article was written on repairing a pump on cars with an 8 valve engine (Injector), if you want to study an article on how to repair this pump on 16 valve cars, then in this case, read "this article", and if you have a carburetor engine, then you will need to read an article entitled: "Repair of a gas pump on a VAZ 2108 "(Do not pay special attention to the make of the car, because the carburetor engine in cars of the VAZ 2110 family was installed from the eight)
Additional video clip: In addition, study two interesting videos just below, in them the pump disassembly is not particularly shown, but it explains how it can be checked (whether it works or not), and you will also find a lot of useful tips for yourself in these videos. (In the video below, a VAZ 2109 car is used, but you also do not pay attention to this, because the 8 valve injection engines were also installed on the same nines and tens)
Note! If you want to replace the mesh (the Filter can be said) at the gas pump, but you do not know how to remove it, in this case, check out the roller located below:
