Next, you can remove the steering wheel and unscrew the screws that are located in the area of ​​the car's lower casing. After that, you will have to disassemble the steering column. When the dashboard is dismantled, you should unscrew the arrows from the old speedometer and tachometer. Subsequently, they will be fixed on the updated dials.

When tuning a VAZ 2109 with your own hands, you can also repaint the dials and hands in bright colors. For this, ordinary paint cans are suitable. At the same time, it is better to make the dial a rich black color.

You can give it a matte finish using special products. In this case, the arrows must be painted in bright pink or original red-burgundy tones. After the painted plates of the machine dial are dry, they are completed with an old or prepared scale and removed hands.

You will need a soldering iron. Next, you need to buy numbers and a scale panel. It is important that they are translucent from the inside. You should also purchase an ultraviolet lamp. It is powered by 12 volts. Therefore, nothing needs to be changed.

You will also need a fluorescent marker or paint. It will change color if exposed to ultraviolet light. This technique is often used in modern nightclubs.You will also need ordinary bulbs with sockets, like those in the "tidy". There is no need to change the LEDs, they will remain in place. Everything you need is there, you can start.

First you need to remove the plastic, then the dashboard. Also, don't forget about the black plastic around the glass. We disassemble the standard insert, as well as the arrows. Most often, there are no holes in the new insert. Therefore, you have to make them. For the arrows, the holes will be needed wider than in the standard pad. Otherwise, the arrows will start to stick.

Next, you need to dismantle the backlight that is installed. The work should be done carefully so that the plastic is not damaged. We take out the board with light bulbs. We install a neon light instead of the usual ones, and glue a plastic protection on top. Previously, factory bulbs were screwed on it. Do not forget about the control unit for the new neon light. Always be careful not to reverse the polarity.

If this happens, nothing will shine. Next, you need to screw in the instrument illumination lamps. This should be done in parallel with the neon lamp. We lay the wiring from the inside, first for this you need to make holes in the partitions.

We check if everything is correct. Inside, you should adjust the bulbs. Then we put on the pad and glue it. After these steps, it remains for us to paint the arrows with a purchased fluorescent marker or paint. It is advisable to repeat the painting after 10 minutes. After that, the arrows can be installed in their place. This completes the tuning.

Check the work, otherwise you will have to disassemble everything. If there are no problems, you can collect everything in strict reverse order. After such tuning, the VAZ 2109 salon will be equipped with a colorful panel like good foreign cars. First you need to completely remove the torpedo and disassemble the dashboard. To do this, unscrew the self-tapping screws securing the torpedo to the body. The number of them can be found out if you study the instructions for the operation of the car. It is possible that the panel can be removed if only the trim is disconnected and the steering column is released all the way down.

Then we need to unscrew the bolts that are at the bottom of the lining. Using a screwdriver and a flat nozzle, pry on the instrument combination and remove it. You should be especially careful as you can accidentally damage the glass. After that, unscrew the bolts on the back. Disconnect the glass, and then the plastic gasket.

You do not need to touch the arrows, you should work carefully, because you can accidentally hit them or knock them down.If this happens, you will have to expose them again and, even more difficult, adjust the sensors. When looking at the back of a light bulb, you can see the location of all lighting fixtures, including LEDs.

We circle them with a marker and unsolder them from the microcircuit. We check new light elements with an adapter or battery. It is better to use LEDs, since they will consume a small amount of energy, and they also have a long life. Then you need to inspect the metal antennae of the diodes so that they are intact. Otherwise, the diode will not light up. We insert both antennae of the diode into the hole of the microcircuit, which remained after the previous bulbs were sealed off. We solder the antennae on the back of the circuit.

We mount the rest of the diodes in the same way. The assembly must be carried out in the reverse order. After we start the car, turn on the low beam. Thus, we check how the installed LEDs function.

Sometimes there is a need to remove only one visor on the high instrument panel of the VAZ 2109 without removing the entire panel. Often this moment is not described in the manuals, the emphasis is on dismantling the entire torpedo with detaching it from the car body. At the same time, to access the instrument cluster, for example, to install scale backlighting LEDs instead of standard lamps or install another instrument cluster, there is no need to dismantle the entire instrument panel, it is enough to remove only one visor.

Before starting all work with the car's electrical wiring, you must remove the negative terminal from the battery to avoid possible short circuits.

We remove the button for the switch dimensions / low beam from the panel using a screwdriver. The button is tight, you need to be careful not to damage it.

Disconnect its connector from the button.

In the same way, we remove the emergency gang button. It will be more difficult to pull it out, we also show accuracy.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the two screws securing the tidy console cover, also called the "beard"

Having unscrewed the screws, we bend the beard down, another self-tapping screw holds it from below.

We take out the radio tape recorder and disconnect all its connectors, or a standard plug, if you do not have a radio tape recorder with your car.

There are 3 metal latches (2) on the top of the visor, 2 plastic tabs (1) on the bottom from the edges. To remove the visor, they must be squeezed out one by one and the visor of the instrument panel is released.

We start with the two upper latches, squeeze them with a screwdriver through the niche for the radio, and slide the visor towards ourselves. Care is also needed here, as the latches are fragile and may come off.

Next, use a screwdriver to squeeze the two lower plastic attachments of the visor, and lift the visor up.

Having lifted the visor, we unhook the third upper fastening bracket on the left.
