Of course, this is far from the only network size used in practice, therefore, the dimensions of the original network canvas may be different.

The most important characteristic of a networked web is the size of the cell. The cell size is usually understood as the distance between the nodes. This distance can be, for example, 17 mm or 80 mm. Naturally, the size of the mesh is determined by the size of the fish you are going to fish - the smaller the fish, the smaller the mesh. It should be borne in mind, of course, that a fine-meshed net can be used to catch both large and small fish (in addition, large predatory fish can fall into a small net, attracted by prey - an accumulation of small fish in the net),while small fish cannot be caught in a large net.

Another important parameter of the fabric is the diameter of the thread used for the length of knitting - after all, it is the diameter of the thread that ultimately determines the strength of the fishing net, which experiences considerable stress. Modern netting fabrics are made from polyamide materials, in particular from nylon (we have gone far from the old woman's yarn). The specific gravity of this material is 14 g / cm3 (that is, it is heavier than water). Although the melting point of nylon is approximately 200 ° C, it should be borne in mind that this material can undergo changes at lower temperatures, and therefore it should not be kept near heating devices or laid dangerously close to a fire.

Choosing a thread for knitting a web, we are faced with one contradiction: the desire to make this fishing tackle more reliable (that is, the choice of a large diameter thread) leads to a decrease in the catch - because the more visible the net for fish, the higher the likelihood that your potential catch will try to escape from danger.

We have already said that in recent years, netting fabrics are made mainly from nylon. These threads are called line or monofilament. One of the main advantages of this material is that with the same strength characteristics as other materials, the service life of nylon cloths is much longer, they become much less dirty and, as a rule, are cheaper than cloths made of other materials.

Recently, multimonofilament canvases have become very popular. These are fabrics made of twisted nylon thread. The advantage of these canvases over conventional monofilament canvases is that, with the same total thickness of the thread, multimonofilament canvases are much stronger and more elastic, and also have a higher catchability. True, their price is higher than for canvases made of mono thread, but not so much as not to buy them.
