Recently I noticed, I heard, or rather, that when the turbine is spinning up, it starts to whistle. before, what could it be and what could it lead to?
And also, sometimes, when the kickdown is turned on, on the rise or overtaking, the tachometer needle goes beyond 3000 rpm, sometimes you can hear how the air bursts out (like from the compressor) when you squeeze the hose with your hand and release it. the sound is emitted directly in front of the water seat in the engine compartment (right hand drive). as if something is opening or letting in and air comes out from there.
maybe it's okay. I had snotty until I changed the copper washers on the oil end bolts (well, in the sense that there are bolts in the place where the oil supply pipes are attached to the turbine and they have sealing washers.)
ATTENTION. DO NOT tighten these bolts. I got burned on this. I thought I would pull it up and the oil snot will disappear. nor pulled youmayo - the bolt cracked in half, although there was no great effort. part of the bolt remained in the turbine - it's good that he easily unscrewed it from there ... and if it remained, there would be a complete Zh. A.

“A lot” is if there is not enough from replacement to replacement - I think so.
but mainly, of course - this tightening of the clamps - aesthetics + a slight reduction in air leaks from the turbine. Post has been editedRAPIDA: 24 January 2006 - 13:29

Why do you need high pressure? the turbo does not create that much pressure. IMHO you can put the usual one, the main thing is that it is thermostable.

Question is it possible to somehow determine whether the turbine is working or not not at the service station and without disassembling it, on your own.
some incomprehensibility occurs - the gas is on the floor, and instead of a sharp acceleration, she begins to smoothly pick up speed and I can't go to Chimbulak for the second - the gas is all the way, but it doesn't go, the revolutions are falling, I have to go on the first ;-(
Did you do the box test? When the ignition is turned on, the turn light comes on and then blinks 16 times or not?
There may be many reasons for this. Filters for example. Box. Injection pump and so on.
The turbine reaches operating speed at 1800-2000 rpm of the engine.

Turbocharging system - general information
General information and operating principle
The system consists of a water cooled turbocharger, an intercooler (Intercooler) and a charge control system (MPFI Turbo).

The control system makes it possible to boost the engine in terms of power, which significantly increases the efficiency of its output and, as a result, improves the vehicle's maneuverability in all operating ranges. The control system provides a function to compensate for changes in barometric pressure during vehicle operation in high mountainous areas.
The air, passing through the air cleaner, enters the turbocharger, after compression in which it is cooled in the intercooler heat exchanger (Intercooler), after which it is fed into the throttle body and then into the intake manifold and engine cylinders.
To damp a rapid change in pressure when the throttle valve is suddenly closed, a special bypass channel is provided bypassing it. With a sharp increase in the vacuum depth when the damper is closed, air flows through this channel to the compressor inlet. The use of such a system can significantly reduce the level of background noise during engine braking.
The boost control system (MPFI Turbo) consists of an air pressure sensor, a control unit, a control solenoid valve, a bypass valve actuator diaphragm and a pressure relief valve itself, which allows gases to bypass the turbine. The air pressure sensor supplies the control unit with information about the intake manifold pressure.
The compressor is equipped with its own water jacket and a pressure relief bypass valve. The turbine is made of heat-resistant steel, the compressor casing is made of aluminum alloy. The turbine shaft is supported in floating bearings.
Adjusting the boost pressure
Purpose of the pressure relief bypass valve
With an increase in the crankshaft speed (with similar throttle positions), the exhaust gas consumption increases, which, in turn, leads to an increase in the turbine shaft speed (from approximately 20,000 to 150,000 per minute) and, accordingly, the boost pressure. An increase in boost pressure can lead to knocking combustion of the air-fuel mixture (diesel effect) and, as a consequence, an increase in the thermal load on the piston crowns, which is fraught with damage to the internal components of the engine. In order to eliminate this effect, the compressor is equipped with a special pressure relief valve, which allows gases to bypass the turbine. Pressure relief valve function diagram
1 - Turbocharger 2 - the pressure relief valve 3 - the diaphragm of the bypass valve drive
The bypass valve remains in the closed position as long as the boost pressure remains below the allowable value. In this case, the entire flow of exhaust gases is passed through the turbine.
As soon as the pressure on the control diaphragm exceeds the permissible value, the bypass valve opens and part of the exhaust gases is discharged bypassing the turbine directly into the exhaust system. In this case, the pressure difference P1 - P2 (where P1 is atmospheric pressure; P2 is the pressure in the intake manifold) is kept constant.
Boost pressure control concept
When the vehicle is operated at high altitudes, where there is already a noticeable decrease in atmospheric pressure relative to normal, the boost control system maintains the maximum absolute value of the boost pressure.
The turbocharger receives oil from the engine lubrication system. As soon as the rotational speed of the turbine shaft reaches several thousand revolutions per minute, the shaft bearings “float” on an oil wedge formed both on the outside and on the inside of the bearing assembly. In addition to lubricating the bearings, the oil also provides additional heat transfer from the turbocharger. Turbocharger lubrication diagram

In order to increase the service life and reliability of the operation of the turbocharger, a water cooling jacket is provided in its casing. The coolant flows through the connecting hoses from the engine water jacket. After extracting heat from the turbocharger, the working fluid is directed to the expansion tank of the cooling system.
Air intercooling system

9 - Cooler 10 - Air inlet 11 - the electric motor of the pump drive 12 - Vehicle speed sensor (VSS) 13 - Coolant temperature sensor (ECT) 14 - Throttle position sensor (TPS) 15 - the Control unit
Intercooling the air after it leaves the compressor increases the efficiency of the turbocharging system, reduces the likelihood of mixture knocking and helps to reduce fuel consumption.

The Intercooler is an air / water heat exchanger with low pressure drop and high cooling capacity.
Turbocharger Intercooler Design
1 - Air outlet 2 - Air inlet 3 - Coolant inlet 4 - Coolant outlet
The intercooler heat exchanger, consisting of five separate blocks, is made of aluminum alloy and ensures the removal of excess heat from the air stream, the temperature of which rises as a result of adiabatic compression in the compressor.
Wiring diagram for the radiator of the intercooler of the turbocharging system
1 - Cooler radiator 2 - the throttle body 3 - the Cover of the cooling system 4 - Intercooler 5 - the pump of the cooler
The intercooler radiator is made of finned aluminum tubes. The left radiator reservoir is divided into two parts, which allows for more efficient heat dissipation from the coolant. To remove air plugs from the tract, a special ventilation plug is provided.
Intercooler pump design
1 - Winding 2 - the impeller 3 - Liquid inlet
The impeller of the intercooler pump is driven by an individual electric motor.
The power of which is about 28 W when opening the throttle valve less than 80% and 50 W when opening the throttle valve more. This scheme is implemented in order to save power costs.
Air bypass valve to the boost system
As mentioned above, when the throttle valve is suddenly closed, a low-frequency hum can occur in the air intake system. In order to minimize the sound background during engine braking, a special bypass valve is included in the turbocharger system. The valve is triggered by the vacuum generated behind the throttle valve when it is suddenly closed, as a result, air from the throttle chamber is redirected to the compressor inlet.

Diagnostics of malfunctions of the turbocharging system
Malfunctions of the turbocharging system can lead to the following consequences:
With increased boost pressure:
a) Detonation of the air-fuel mixture.
With an underestimated boost pressure:
The reasons for the appearance of the following symptoms may also be a violation of the tightness of the air intake or exhaust systems, an increase in the resistance of the exhaust tract as a result of deformation of the pipes, a failure of the control system to eliminate knock, as well as a malfunction of the injection control system.
b) Power loss c) Decreased throttle response; d) Increased fuel consumption.
e) Increased oil consumption; f) Formation of white smoke at the outlet of the exhaust system.
Timely maintenance, use of high-quality consumables and respect for the car engine will help you avoid NISSAN TERRANO turbine malfunctions.
Are you interested in turbocharger repair on NISSAN?
However, Russian road conditions, increased loads, overheating of the unit have a negative impact on the operation of the fuel dispenser.
If you find that:
- oil leaks and is heavily consumed,
- the exhaust is painted black or gray,
- fuel consumption has increased,
This means that there is a malfunction of the turbocharger. It is necessary to carry out a diagnosis.
Service center "REMSTAR" is a leader among organizations engaged in the maintenance and restoration of turbines. Repair of turbines NISSAN TERRANO - one of the priority directions of our activity. The accumulated experience allows us to perform work of any complexity.
After diagnostics, a decision is made on further repair of the turbocharger. If significant breakdowns are identified, the unit is defective. Its parts are washed in an ultrasonic bath, then blown out with compressed air. The assessment of the degree of wear of the parts is made. Then the original Nissan Terrano turbine number is calculated, according to which a repair kit is selected from the catalog.
Worn parts, such as bearing housing, bush, seals, are replaced but new ones. The turbine cartridge is inspected for carbon deposits and chips. If it is badly damaged, it must be replaced. If it can be restored, then the turbine cartridge is balanced on a stand simulating the engine operating modes. The turbine and compressor wheels are balanced.
All operations are carried out on specialized equipment that meets the manufacturer's requirements.
Our masters will repair the NISSAN TERRANO turbine quickly, efficiently and with a guarantee.

I used the services to restore the turbine. Everything was done in 1 day (I gave it in the morning, I took it in the evening). Feels like - with the restored turbine, the engine began to run quieter. The only thing is that somehow the car went wrong, but I’ll drive some more, I’ll watch.
An expensive pleasure, but what can you do. I am satisfied, after the repair of the turbine, the car was born again, and other craftsmen were already convincing that they would only buy a new one!
Thank you for the service and quality repairs, and most importantly, prompt. It is convenient when all the necessary spare parts are in stock.
It would be nice if you were still engaged in engines.
There will be a case - I will contact Turbotech again!
Thank you guys for a great job! Turbine flew on my Audi, terrible story!
I decided to give it to Turbotech for repairs, I was very worried, afraid that they would do it badly, it would be bad to pull or something else. The result was very pleasing, everything was done efficiently and quickly. There will be a case - I will contact Turbotech again!
In the fall I decided to take up the car - the turbine sometimes turned off, the last straw was when it turned off while overtaking the truck. There is an oncoming car ahead and the car's traction is gone!
After inspection and diagnostics of the turbine, they called the normal price, I immediately agreed! The renovation took only two days. When I traveled, I liked everything, I paid exactly the amount that was named at the beginning. turbotech, thanks for the quality work.
I have been looking for a service for repairing a car for a long time, most companies offer their services at inflated prices, and even the quality of work leaves much to be desired. The prices are adequate and the quality of work is at a high level. What pleased TURBOTECH - they did everything quickly, after 5 hours they took the finished turbine.
I contacted on the advice of a colleague and have no regrets
I repaired the turbine on my Sorento in Turbotech - the turbine is completely in the trash. The guys not only carried out a complete repair of the turbine, but also helped to find the cause of its breakdown - the oil pump in the engine ...
I was very pleased with the work, the quality is excellent, I will recommend it to my friends, thank you!
I turned to this company with a trace of a problem: it began to pull badly and a whistle from the turbine appeared.
I took off the turbine myself and brought it to the guys. To which the specialists of this company told me that the turbine is in absolute order. Unless, as the snails were removed, we can only clean it. And my problem is probably somewhere in the engine. Most likely in the pipes that go to the turbine. As a result, they took 2000 for diagnostics and cleaning of the turbine and wrote a recommendation where to look. Of course, I was not delighted with such a repair, because I was sure that the matter was in the turbine and this could not be due to some kind of pipe.
But nonetheless. when I nevertheless examined carefully each hose in my car, I found a hole into which three fingers crawled in the intercooler pipe. Then I understood what the masters were talking about. To celebrate, I bought a new original pipe. And immediately put it back. Accordingly, the car went again as before. Yes, the guys are really great, they work honestly, they don't do nonsense. Accordingly, they probably have enough work for this.
I have a BMW X5 E53 body, a turbine whistled, I decided to buy a new one, but my friend advised me to Turbotech. As it turned out, repairing my turbine will cost me 3 times less than buying a new one. Not much money decided to try to repair it.The turbine was repaired to me, but they said that the turbine was out of order due to something flying out of the engine. I was skeptical about this.
I put the turbine and left about 5 thousand km. As a result, whistling and power dips appeared again. Having contacted this service again, it turned out that the reason was again in the arrival of some particles from the engine. The case was recognized as out of warranty, damage and bent blades were clearly visible. There was nothing to argue with. But nevertheless, the guys reacted with understanding to my problem. I now not only re-do the turbine, but also look for the cause in the engine. It is possible to capitalize it. And they made me a second renovation with a good discount. And the reason for the arrival, as it turned out, was peeling off pieces of iron in the exhaust manifold. Now I installed the turbine and changed the manifold for a new one. There were no more such problems. Nevertheless, I want to thank the guys for their understanding. Thank God I didn't buy a new turbine. After all, without replacing the collector and this turbine would have awaited the fate of my old one.
On my B5 Passstat with an AFN engine, power began to disappear when the engine load increased. I had to turn off and start the engine again. So I went and suffered. What services did I not apply to? One said that the air flow sensor needs to be changed and some other air speed sensor. Said either one or this or both at once. This answer did not inspire me. In another service they said that it was necessary to change the injection pump. In the third, they said it was a turbine. After surfing the Internet, reading the forums, I found this company. He took off the turbine and brought it for diagnostics. It turned out that the problem was neither that nor that. The guys put it on the stand, then dismantled the turbine. For about twenty minutes they discussed something among themselves. And as a result, they said that the turbine was in order. They advised to inspect all the pipes that go from the turbine to the intercooler and beyond. I asked the craftsmen at the service where the turbine was removed to do it, and the truth is, they found a hole in the plastic pipe between the intercooler and the manifold. Replaced this tube.
Result: Diagnostics - 1500
And my car goes like new. Thanks to the Turbotech specialists who saved me from unreliable and expensive repairs.
I was in this company, the reviews are the most positive, competent approach, consultations, they set up a completely new turbine, which, as it turned out, was made in China, and not in Europe, and was not minimally configured, but in general nothing, everything was done in one and a half hours, the car went, I will recommend to all my friends than to dangle in Minsk.
A couple of months ago, a turbine flew on my Iveco cursor 10. He already tortured me already, this must be done, then another. And then there's the turbine at the wrong time. The car does not pull, I can not drive normally. A new one with this dollar is generally worth a lot of money. I decided to repair it. Although he doubted how they would do it, whether he would walk. I decided to take a chance and brought it to this service. Everything is clean inside, the equipment is worthwhile.
As it turned out, they did it in 2 days. Passed about 4000 km, the flight is normal. Pret the car as it should, loaded 27 tons.
If you want to save on the turbine, please contact us, you will not regret it!
It was necessary to quickly make a turbine on my DAF 45 in order to send the car on a flight. I found this company on the Internet. They had the fastest repair time, and ordering a new one is 2-3 days.
At first, I was worried about whether the guys would cope with the repairs in a day. But the master-inspector assured me that everything would be done. Although I doubted, I decided to check.
At the appointed time, they called me and said that the turbine was ready. Came checked everything well. go to meet people. I hope that the turbine will cover another 1,500,000 km.
It's a pleasure to deal with such offices. Success in work Repair of the Land Rover turbine
Hello everyone! The queue is glad that there are good companies, and this is one of them! I sent the turbine from Kurgan, they did everything quickly and efficiently, made a photo report if desired, old details were also sent. I was pleasantly surprised by the recommendations from these guys! Thank you again for your work.I did not regret that I turned to them!
Hello. Interested in repairing a turbocharger for a Ford Transit 2.4 140 hp. I am in Vladikavkaz myself. I changed the turbine three months ago, installed a used unit. They said the turbine had a mileage of only 50 thousand kilometers .. But the car kept jerking sometimes, then a certain whistle appeared during acceleration (more than 2000 rpm) ... Then the whistle passed and a squeal and hum appeared ... the thrust was gone and acceleration is rather weak… I think the turbine is closing again… I thought about replacing the oil pump… Maybe it doesn’t serve well .. I would like to clarify how much it costs to repair my turbine and what is the guarantee. And is there a delivery option to Ossetia ...? It's just that some argue that the repaired turbine is working max. month ... Like, poor quality diesel, etc ... I can give two turbines ... Thanks in advance!
Hello. On the recommendation of your specialist, I removed the pallet and actually found metal shavings there. And some other details, the origin of which I do not know. I am sending you a photo of these parts. If it's not difficult, maybe your specialists will be able to determine where they might be. At least presumably. .. Thanks in advance! !!
I think the wreck is from the cylinder head of the engine, which was changed for me in the winter. I don’t know the rest ... Hello! You were right, this is a cylinder head part. The "compensator" has collapsed, and the details are from there. I got the compressor, thank you very much!)
I have been working with this service for two years, repair turbines run even better than new ones, the main thing is that the engine is in good order and the driver has brains. Well done!
During the next maintenance, the masters removed the branch pipe from the turbine, looked at something there and advised to diagnose the turbine.
The turbine was removed, and I took it to Turbotech for diagnostics.
They immediately looked at it in front of me, measured something there. In general, it turned out that many consumables inside the turbine are in an almost critical condition. It is necessary to change everything, it was lucky that the necessary parts were in Turbotech and everything was delivered to me right away.
The work was done quickly, everything was ready in a few hours. Now I go and am glad, now I feel that the turbine has become more responsive and gives more power. I hadn’t changed the turbine or diagnosed it before, but now I realized that it also needs to be monitored.
The only thing that I had to go to the left bank, far from me.
The car slowed down a lot in power, at the beginning it did not cause discomfort, but still it was noticeable. The service station said that the problem is in the turbine, removed the turbine and brought it to the turbotechservice. After the diagnosis, they said that they could fix it. They calculated how much it would be the amount with spare parts (they had everything in their warehouse, they didn't have to wait for anything and did not have to order). The price is normal. A new one with this course is generally fabulous money. I agreed and did not regret it. Although at first there were doubts about how they would do it, etc. But the car has already run over 50,000 and the flight is normal. Oil does not eat and pulls the road.
Feedback on the repair of the turbine Hyundai Santa Fe
Good afternoon. TURBO-TECH Bryansk company. My name is Ruslan. Is it convenient to talk now?
Look, last year you made the turbine in Santa Fe.
Yes Yes. Everything seems to be good.
Everything suits you according to oil cravings.
It seems to be normal. All for now ... Whistling, but it whistled from the very beginning. That is, how they put it. Apparently, it should whistle.
Yes, the whistle will be small in any case. Aerodynamic course.
And the comments on the time, how the turbine was made, on the maintenance?
No no no. There are no comments at all and cannot be. As they did to me. Replaced everything completely. And everything, I think, is justified. People made it out in front of me. Have shown. I think…
Did you meet on time? During the renovation?
Yes, they did it, everything was done extremely and efficiently.
Well, will you recommend us?
