When comparing imported cars with domestic ones, great claims were always made against the latter. The exterior of the car left much to be desired, but this does not apply to the 3110 model. But all the same, looking at the photo you can see that tuning the Volga 31 10 is simply necessary, without it the car looks completely boring and not modern.
The same can be said about the interior of her salon, which is comfortable and has large dimensions. But the owners of 3110 were not satisfied with the noise insulation, high fuel consumption, and some interior elements. Therefore, novice and experienced drivers begin to modernize the Volga, eliminating factory defects. If all internal cavities are treated with anticorrosive material, noise and vibration isolation in the cabin and trunk has been carried out, you can proceed to further styling 3110.

Is it possible to make these elements by hand? Yes, it is possible. This will require fiberglass (glass mat), polyester resin, cling film, putty on plastic, primer in a cylinder, paint and varnish or self-adhesive auto vinyl film.
Do not rush to dismantle the light elements; first, make a mock-up of the future eyelash and attach it to the headlight. The shape of the plastic element can be different, it all depends on your imagination. As a rule, a width of 2-4 cm is sufficient. For a more harmonious combination with the body, the eyelash should go over the headlight and the turn signal.
Some impatient craftsmen stick a film in the color of a car on the glass of a lighting fixture, imitating an eyelash, but this option has no volume. If from a distance of 3-5 meters it looks more or less, then upon detailed examination it is not comme il faut.
After dismantling, wrap the headlamp in one or two even layers of cling film. This will prevent the polyester resin from getting on the glass, then saturate the glass cloth on a separate surface and place it over the headlamp. Work wearing seals in a well-ventilated area. The total thickness of the element should be about 5 mm. After drying, give the eyelash the desired shape, cut off the excess with an angled machine. When doing this, be sure to wear a respirator and safety glasses. Putty and prime the face surface. You can paint it in the color of the car or paste over the eyelash with vinyl. The body kit assumes a sporty appearance of the car. therefore, the overly bright exterior and the classic forms of the 3110 may not be combined, although this is a matter of taste.
In the factory version, it is difficult to purchase additional body kit parts (door sills, front and rear bumper covers), so you need to order their manufacture individually in tuning workshops. It is expensive, but very effective, as the chances are high that your car will be one of a kind. If you have enough experience, you can make these elements with your own hands.
In order to reduce the ground clearance, it is not necessary to radically modernize the suspension, it is enough to install universal overhead plastic sills. Products that protrude outward with a simple configuration, with a minimum number of bends, are suitable. Their installation will visually underestimate the car. However, this effect can be achieved if the door sills are of the same color as the Volga. You can install them yourself. You may need to modify them in the field. To do this, you will have to use an angle grinder or a construction hairdryer.
When considering tuning external elements, for example, a trunk spoiler, pay attention to the shape of the car. A sliding spoiler made of aluminum will look ridiculous in the photo of the Volga 3110 tuning and live. It is better to choose a streamlined element of low height with built-in LED lamps that light up when you press the brake pedal.
The interior of the vehicle must match the exterior styling of the vehicle. Therefore, tuning the GAZ 3110 interior is no less important than its styling. For better illumination of information boards, replace the standard bulbs with LEDs. Use a leaking yellow or orange LED strip to illuminate the tachometer and speedometer scales. Glue it with cyanoacrylic glue or gel. To create a directional glow, cover the back of the tape with an opaque dielectric material and your Volga tuning will look several times more stylish.
An excellent final chord of tuning the GAZ 3110, which includes do-it-yourself refinement, will be the hauling of door cards and car seats. Modern knitted fabrics, faux suede (Alcantara) or perforated leather give the cabin a fantastic look.
Updating door cards can be easily done by yourself. To do this, calculate the dimensions of the future part that you plan to place in the middle of the door panel. When making a part, do not forget to cut the insert, taking into account the bends in a circle. You can combine this element using several colors. For pasting, use universal glue 88.
Sewing covers without special sewing equipment and experience is quite difficult. Especially if you plan to use leatherette as a covering. Depending on the cut, in some places several layers of material can be joined, which is almost impossible to sew with a conventional machine. This will be one of the first serious obstacles during the tuning of the Volga in the independent manufacture of new seat upholstery.

Does the steering wheel return poorly to its original position? The point, again, is the lack of lubrication in the steering gear. Pivots or shaft may be seized. Lubricate them too.
Does the steering become unstable when braking? Here the matter is worse: it only means the need to replace the "guilty" part (wheel bearing, caliper, spring, discs). And even a considerable body repair shines.
By the way, about the body. It does not need to be overloaded. Otherwise, you will have a suspension draft, and then you will have to change the shock absorber strut.
A few more words about the suspension strut. Its malfunction (wear) affects the operation of many parts of the Volga. In addition to suspension settlement, it can cause body vibrations, too soft / too hard driving, warped tires, poor handling of the car in general.

The redesign of the drum does not increase the efficiency of the braking system as a whole, so it makes sense to install rear disc brakes.
