The Priora has power windows, which the driver controls when the ignition is on and for a short time after it is turned off. This method of connecting an ESP is not always rational. Many car enthusiasts convert power windows to operate without ignition.

When the ignition is turned off in a VAZ 2170 Priora car, the power windows can be used for a short 10-30 seconds. If in this short time you open the doors to the car, then the ESP will no longer work.

There is an old proven method of using lifters without ignition: a jumper is inserted into the ESP relay. But in a Priora's car, it is impossible to control the power windows in this way. Under the panel in the cabin there is an automatic control unit for power accessories, but the glass unit controller cannot be in standby mode, there will be a large load on the battery and a large energy leakage current. The rechargeable battery will not cope with the load and will fail.

In the gap of the wire, you need to install a conventional button with a diode without a pin. Power window control without ignition will be available for the same 10-30 seconds. If there is not enough time, it is enough to press this button twice.

Why doesn't the window regulator work on the Prior? There are plenty of reasons: blown fuse, poor wiring, failure of the electric motor itself. As soon as the reason for the non-working state of the ESP is identified, repairs can be carried out. To do this, you need to competently dismantle the unit.

First of all, you need to figure out how to remove the edge from the doors of the car, and do it. Also prepare keys with heads for "10" and "8". Now you can start the process of disassembling the rear power windows.

Fix the rear door windows, gain access to the glass attachment bolts. Unscrew these bolts with a key "10".
Unscrew the three fastening elements of the ESP to the door with a key with a head on "8".
Using a key "10", unscrew the two nuts securing the window regulator guide.
Remove the ESP itself.

Installation of rear power windows is carried out strictly in reverse order.

Mechanisms for rear windows

When reassembling, it is necessary to take into account that, by placing rivets on the door trim, it is necessary to ensure its reliability and protection. The dust and moisture protection film must not have folds or breaks. Everything that is installed must be in perfect condition. The ground wire must be connected to the battery. After that, complete initialization of the electronic system should be carried out.

Installing or replacing the window lifter will not be difficult for any owner of a Priora car, but in order to properly install this unit, you need to be patient and prepare the required set of keys.

The ESP kit always has a manual, which describes in detail the sequence of work for installing the device.

It is important to know how to remove the terminals from the battery. The existing set of wires must be assembled into a common bundle to connect to the machine's network. On the back of the fuse box, find a regular hole and insert a wiring harness block into it. Then everything goes according to plan.

The electrical circuit of the ESP Priora differs from the circuit of the previous VAZ models. This vehicle does not have a power window unit. The mechanism is controlled by the controller. When using the device, you do not need to hold down the button for a long time to completely open or close the glass. The button is a sensor for the electrical unit, which receives information about the operation of the ESP.

We can also talk about the specifics of supplying power to the electrode in the electrical circuit. The multifunctional wire takes part in the transfer of heating energy and at the same time in the control of the mirrors. This wire plays the role of "plus" or "minus", depending on what function it performs. The controller of the electrical package controls all the values of this wire.

Most often, damage occurs in the electrical unit itself, for example, the microcircuits of the control unit burn out. The reason for this is the shortcomings of the work of the manufacturer's specialists, the imperfection of the electrical unit system, its production flaws. The problem is indicated by the intermittent operation of the power windows.

You can start looking for faults by checking the quality of the lock for locking the rear or front doors. When the lock is inoperative, you need to check for the presence of a "minus". After connecting the control lamp to the car body, turn on the power window. Connect the same light bulb to the positive wire and repeat everything you did earlier. All conclusions must be verified using this method. If the test is successful and the light comes on, then the electric power window control unit itself is operational. You need to look for the reason in the wiring: a wire break on the door is possible, a faulty electric drive. The check will consist in connecting the control lamp between the beams of the electric drive.

Rear power windows, which have long been present in foreign cars, are still a rarity in domestic cars. Only the latest generations of Russian cars, such as the Lada Priora, have received this option. Priora windows are one of the most demanded options for such a car.

The installation of rear power windows on the Prior is clearly not within the power of every driver who decides to independently install or replace a failed device with his own hand. Before installing these devices in a car, you need to have at least a rough knowledge of the procedure and the principle of operation of the device itself. Without this, competent repair of the window regulator is impossible. The power window mechanism is installed inside the doors. Priora windows consist of an electric motor, a drive and an electronic control unit. According to the ESP device, it can be:

cable (most common);
plank;
rack and pinion.

In some configurations of Lada Priora, factory rear ESPs are installed, which does not negate the need for knowledge about their device. Replacing the window regulator is such a problem that occurs unexpectedly, so it is better to be prepared for it in advance.

As some car owners have found out, in order to install power windows, you need to be able to understand wiring and have a lot of patience. In particular, in the Priore of 2008, it was discovered that the rear door wiring was not completely divorced, which seriously complicates the work. In addition, the operation of standard ESPs with the ignition off is impossible, even if you insert a jumper into the desired relay.

There are many sets of rear lifts for sale that are compatible with the VAZ-2110, Grant and Priora. The cost of the kit can reach 3,500 rubles, depending on the type of design and manufacturer. The installation of equipment at the service will cost about the same amount. Many owners of the VAZ 2170 Priora sooner or later face the problem of failure of standard power windows. The master is not very expensive (from 700 rubles), and its installation does not affect the door trim in any way. The whole procedure consists in removing the lining of the sills of the rear doors, folding back the noise insulation and connecting the closer to the connector.

For the front doors, the Master will by default raise and lower the windows without ignition, and on the rear doors, you need to install a slightly different version, called Master Plus. There are no differences in the installation, the main thing is not to forget to disconnect the minus of the battery before starting work. The wizard has many other useful functions, for example, automatically turns off the radio when the car is armed.

Power windows are a necessary element of comfort. But with Priora, everything is not so simple. The standard wiring (unless, of course, you have a luxury version) is not enough to install the lifts in the rear doors. And the first thing to do is pulling the necessary wires from the control unit to the doors. Moreover, this is not the only difficulty. On some versions without rear ESP relays are installed for them, and the control unit has only 2 buttons. Thus, in order to install the lifts back, you need to change the control unit to a four-button one.

When replacing the unit, problems may arise with the immobilizer of the standard anti-theft system. It must either be deactivated or reprogrammed. It depends if you need a factory alarm. In general, the procedure, which in itself is not too complicated, becomes more and more complicated in the Priora configurations, which are different from the luxury ones.

In order to install power windows on the Prior, you will need a set of keys, the lifters themselves and a screwdriver. Spending time from 15 minutes on the door without taking into account the fuss with the immobilizer. In some cases, it will take up to five hours of work.

But even a seemingly correct installation does not guarantee that the Prior's windows will immediately start working. The Priora has a rather complicated wiring diagram, especially for those who have not done any manipulations with it before. And if there is still no relay in the rear doors, you will have to purchase and install them.

By the way, it is easy to check their presence: when you use the window regulator on the front door, quiet clicks will be heard in the rear ones. These are the working rear relays, quite suitable for installing non-standard ESPs compatible with your car. There is little information on this subject in the automotive forums.

You also need to know how to remove the lift for replacement or repair. Everything is simpler here, we take out the glass, disconnect the electric motor connector, unscrew the fasteners with a ten key and take out the mechanism itself through a specially provided hole. And so with every door. The casing must be removed before starting work.

A window regulator is installed on the Prioru in the Norm configuration in its regular place. Next, you need to connect the rear door buttons, taking into account that there are 3 contacts on each of the buttons (for power, ground and common wire). The wires from the 1st and 3rd contacts must be independently led to the control unit under the dashboard. The common wire connects to one of the wires leaving the controller. After these operations, we connect each prior lift with an electric motor.

To connect the electric drive to the lift, you first need to remove the power connector from the controller. It contains just two empty nests. You just need to remove the clamp in order to easily connect the wires necessary for the operation of the lifts. You also need to pass the wires into the corresponding connectors of the rear doors (their colors are red and black). It is easiest to stretch them along the native wiring of the VAZ Priora. Actually, this completes the installation of electric glass lifters on the rear doors of the Priora's car.But in this case, the standard alarm will not work until the immobilizer is flashed. At this point, either install a new anti-theft system, or use the second method, how to install a power window on the Prioru.

As a rule, the Priora is equipped with a standard APS-6 immobilizer. This, as already mentioned, is an optional procedure, but if the budget does not allow investing in a security system, you will inevitably have to deal with all this electronic "stuffing". In addition to the power windows, the immobilizer controls several other vehicle systems, even the rear lights. But the main problem is precisely the fact that in the Priora car the immobilizer is structurally combined with the double-glazed window controller.

Priora lends itself well to tuning. There was also a solution for the immobilizer. During training, the immobilizer writes its code to the non-volatile memory area of the ECU, which is stored in the disabled state. To disable the immobilizer, you need to clear this memory cell in the ECU.

To do this, disconnect the native wiring connector from the immobilizer. Next, you need to determine the type to the ECU. The method of flashing will depend on this. If it is Bosch M1.5.4, you need to open it and install a specially prepared chip with the ECU EEPROM cleaning program in place of the standard one and turn on the ignition for a few seconds. For some ECUs, special programmers must be downloaded from the Internet.

You can order a flashing from specialists at affordable prices. By the way, the Priora immobilizer itself is often prone to malfunctions, and therefore you need to be extremely careful to intervene in its work. On some types of ECUs, you cannot do without soldering the microcircuit and you cannot completely erase the EEPROM. This is where we end. In our Lada Priora, a problem occurred again, only on the rear right door - the window lifter broke. It was decided to order a power window, but not assembled, like last time, but separately the mechanism itself without a gear motor.

Tools: a figured screwdriver, an asterisk screwdriver, a head for 10, a head for 22, a tool for plastic, adhesive tape, electrical tape, scissors.

We unscrew the screws from the sockets in total 3 pcs - red arrow.

We take the plastic tool. We pry the panels on them in the direction as indicated in the photo, remove to the side. Again, with this tool we lift the door panel, starting from the lower left corner, moving in the counter-clockwise direction and unfasten the panel clips. Having unfastened the panel with clips, lift it up, the panel is removed.

We remove all the insulation so that it does not interfere.

Unscrew the nuts - red arrow.

We lower the glass a little in order to remove the rail from the door body, mounted on the bolts.

Raise the glass to the uppermost position and fix it with tape.

We remove the bolts of the engine and the rails from the fixed places and take out the old window regulator through the corner.

After pulling out the power window, unscrew 4 screws and unscrew the bolt / nut with a rubber surface with a 22 head, removing the gear motor cover.

We “throw” the gearmotor onto the new windows and tighten the bolt / nuts, after which we connect it to the chip and check its performance. As a result, 4 screws remain that are not involved.

In the reverse order, we insert the window regulator and, first of all, we put the engine on the bolts with the nuts baited.

Perform the subsequent manipulations in exactly the opposite order.

9. Install the window regulator VAZ 2171 in the reverse order of removal. After installation, check that the glass closes tightly, without skewing. If this is not the case, loosen the screws securing the glass holder to the slider and align it with the oval holes in the slider to the desired position.

On cars, electric and mechanical power windows have become widespread. In the former, the glass is raised and lowered by an electric motor, which ensures ease of use and ease of control. The driver or passenger just needs to press the appropriate button to move the side glass down or up.

In power windows, the driver ensures the movement of the glass using a special gearbox, which is manually driven into rotation. That is, to lower or raise the glass, it is necessary to rotate the handle installed on the door. Moreover, these differences relate to the actuators of the lifts, that is, with the help of which the lifting and lowering is performed. The second component is the drive mechanism.

To consider possible breakdowns of power windows, let's look at their design.

Let's start with the drive mechanism, as already noted, it can be of two types - mechanical (aka manual) and electrical.

Mechanical is a small gear reducer. A cable actuator is usually used with this type of drive.Therefore, such a gearbox consists of two gears that are meshed with each other. The pinion gear is small in size, and it is it that the driver rotates by means of the handle mounted on the door. The driven one is much larger in size, it is a drum for winding the cable. Due to the different sizes of these gears, a relative ease of opening and closing the glass is achieved.
In the electric drive, a gearbox is also used, but already of the "worm-gear" type. There is a worm on the shaft of the electric motor, which is meshed with a gear. The drive motor itself is of a reversible type, that is, when the polarity is changed, its rotation side changes, which allows the use of just one element to both lower and raise the glass. Such a drive is used with all types of actuators.

Now, with regard to the executive mechanisms. The cable type can be used with both types of drives. Moreover, for mechanical and electrical mechanisms, their design is different, and significantly.

We will consider the design of a mechanical drive and a cable actuator using the VAZ-2107 as an example. In addition to the gearbox, it includes 4 rollers between which the cable moves, with ends fixed on the drum. One of the rollers is tensioning and ensures the proper tension of the cable for the entire period of operation, since in the process it is stretched.

Two rollers are upper and they are connected by means of tension plates with glass brackets. Because of this, when lowering or lifting, the rollers move with the glass. The last roller is the lower one, it is fixed and it is fixed on the door.

A cable is laid between these rollers in a special way. Moreover, it is not looped back. When lifting or lowering, the end on one side of it is unwound from the drum of the gearbox, and the other is wound. Thanks to this, it is possible to move the upper rollers, and with them the side glass.

In an electric drive, the cable actuator has a different design. It includes a guide at the ends of which rollers are installed. The electric motor with a gearbox is placed slightly to the side of this guide. The drive cable is laid between the guide rollers and goes to the gearbox drum, where it is fixed.

In the area between the guide rollers, a slider is attached to the cable, which in turn is connected to the glass. When the electric motor is turned on, one side of the cable begins to wind on the drum, and the other to unwind. Due to this, the cable moves between the rollers, and with it the slide with the glass.

The linkage actuator works in a different way. There is a lever, at one end of which a semicircular toothed sector is made, connected to the driven gear of the reducer. Its other end is connected to a strip on which the glass is planted. The lever from the sector side by means of a bracket is connected to a fixed plate fixed to the door.

There are actuators that include two levers in the design, with the second playing the role of an auxiliary one.

The third type of actuator is rack and pinion, while there are several types of it. One of these mechanisms has a fixed guide with a toothed sector along its entire length. This sector meshes with the gear of the reducer. In this design, the motor with a gearbox is movable and they are connected to the glass. That is, when turned on, the motor with a gearbox and glass begin to move relative to the rail.

Also, the design of the power windows includes a control mechanism, which is the usual buttons through which the electric motors are powered from the on-board network of the car.If, in general, we consider the device for lifting the side windows, then in the cable type with a mechanical drive there are very few components that can fail. The first of these is the cable itself. Over time, it stretches, its threads can break from the effects of corrosion, which will lead to wedging, or it can break altogether. Excessive forces can damage the gearbox itself.But in general, such a mechanism is quite reliable, it rarely breaks down and for its maintenance it is enough to coat all its elements just once a year.
