So. Was bought VW Bora with automatic transmission 01M 2002 with a modern motor AVU 102 power. In good condition, with minimal mileage and native paint. The machine gun kicked.
Having driven the mute, the machine stalled and repairs began. The repair of the mechanical part is not difficult. Defect everything carefully, replace the clutches, check the clutch for leaks, repair the bagel and change the plastic reverse retainer to metal.
The main problem of the valve body is overheating.
On cars with my engine, the temperature of the slurry is 110 degrees. This is 120-130 for automatic transmission.
Hence the good condition of my car. HE DIDN'T GO!
So the cooling system does not provide good cooling up to 90 degrees, and even more so at a slurry temperature of 110 degrees!
In the valve body, the main pressure valve wedges and the machine burns out!
Video (click to play). |
Therefore, it is necessary to provide the machine with an external cooler, preferably with a thermostat. But this is the next report. Now about the valve body
After going over the machine, I bought a used valve body on Ebay from the USA. It was in excellent condition. All valves fell out under their own weight and were in perfect condition. After 10 thousand, I drove to the garage and the machine gun began to knock out into neutral, barely drove into the garage, and the drained oil was black and smelled burnt! The main pressure valve is stuck, stuck due to overheating. Do not describe the words that I sent to everyone. anyway.
And so the repair of the valve body costs 15000 rubles and our masters do not change the valve for repair, they do exactly the procedure described below.
And so let's start! The hydraulic cap is removed, washed with gasoline and brought home. The valves no longer fall out under their own weight! They sit tightly there. Repair!
We unscrew the lids and salt lotions, we don’t lose the balls. We put everything in a box. We have in our hands a naked valve body with valves.
We start troubleshooting with the solenoids.
We call the solenoids with balls, their resistance is 55-65 Ohm.
We put them off. We check the pin solenoids for a resistance of 4.5-5.1 ohms.
We supply power to them, the stem should retract.
The rod of the pin solenoids must move under its own weight without jamming.
Ball Salts are reliable! Don't rush to change them.
There is nothing to break there, the coil magnetizes the ball, which closes the channel.
[b] But pin solenoids work intensively! [/ b]
One pin solenoid blocks the donut, the other slightly lowers the pressure when shifting gears,
[b] It does not regulate pressure [/ b]
[b] Pin solenoid regulators are best replaced! [/ b] But I tried to repair it. We flare, disassemble, wash.
We take emery 1500 and rub the pin itself. Take 1500 emery and rub in the sleeve.
We check the pin to move without scoring, change its position in the salt salt by 180 degrees.
We check that the assembled rod moves freely, this is a prerequisite. We roll it up. We take out the valve, everything is mine.
IF THE VALVES SEIZE LONGITUDINAL SEIZURES ON THE WORKING SURFACES, THE COATING IS DAMAGED, DO NOT WASTE TIME. Buy another valve body on ebay, for example. The renovation is then over!
If the valves are not damaged, we proceed to repair.
The valve body has three valves that work most actively:
Two pressure regulating valves and a pressure regulating valve for a bagel.
If the pressure control valve Converter reg.then there will be kicks when starting off, will not roll when the pedal is released, and in general it can burn the clutch in a bagel.
The pressure control valve is wedged - the clutches burn out. K1, K3.
I took 1000 emery. I measured the diameter of the valves and, picking up the mandrel, began lapping.
THE VALVE DOES NOT TRIP THE VALVES ONE! If the valve is pulled up, then only replacement
We rub it in with passion, rub it in until it easily falls out under its own weight.
Inside, the grouts from the operation of the valve in the hydraulic plate are clearly visible.
We rub, wash, try. rub in again.
Until it easily moves in the plate under its own weight.
We rub in this way all the other valves in the valve body, except for one.
This is a regulator valve under the ratchet plug. We measure the position of the plug. We unscrew it, measure the klpapan, select the mandrel and rub it CAREFULLY.
We tighten the plug to the same depth!
Lapping this valve depending on the condition of its seat. If you rub in too much, the position of the adjusting plug will change dramatically.
You can also grind the donut pressure control valve, the one in the mandrel, if it is not lifted, if it is lifted, then we change it to a repair one from Sonnax. the mandrel is very soft, with three 1500 emery sandpaper. With an accurate selection of two mandrels in diameter.
We collect everything, put it on the car. We check the pressure, if not in the norm of 3.6-4 atm, then add a plug.
Final view before assembly and installation:
I selected the emery mandrels from my grandfather's set of Soviet drills. Screwdrivers and a core were also used. The mandrel diameter must be smaller than the valve and is selected experimentally.
After assembling the body of the block with valves, the valves can be moved with a thin screwdriver. But it is necessary to move behind non-working surfaces, with a flat part and without applying great efforts, everything should move smoothly without jamming with the same effort at the beginning and at the end. If the force applied to the valve at first is greater and it moves with “roughness”, then there will be kicks during operation or the valve will generally jam. Lapping has not been done correctly.
Thank you all for your attention. Maybe I'll add something else later.

Buy automatic transmission Volkswagen Tuareg you can through us. Finding a used gearbox for Volkswagen will be several times cheaper. However, it is impossible to guarantee that the Volkswagen Tuareg with such a transmission will work for a long time.
We place an emphasis on new contract units, we offer options only after thorough tests for proper operation and, of course, without a guarantee. And even in this case, we still focus on remanufactured units, that is, removed, checked and received from a reputable supplier. The warranty only applies to contract units.
Please note that the information provided below is for informational purposes only. We will try to outline for you the main points in our approach to repairing Volkswagen Touareg automatic transmissions.
In most cases, the automatic transmission can be repaired, with the exception that the vehicle's gearbox has burned out (in this case, the unit will need to be replaced). You need to understand that there are parts that can be replaced, and if the elements cannot be restored. This is the basis on which to rely when calculating the cost of repair measures.
We offer the following complexes of repair and restoration work:
- Overhaul of the transmission.
- Replacing a broken automatic gearbox with a new or refurbished one.
- Partial repair of automatic transmission.
The main malfunctions inherent in the Volkswagen Touareg transmission make the following services popular:
- A relatively limited service life is characteristic of the valve body and solenoids, whose functionality is gradually deteriorating in proportion to the wear of the clutches. A clogged valve body is one of the main causes of a breakdown, diagnosed on a computer.
- Often it is required to repair the torque converter, popularly called a bagel. It will need to be sorted out in order to restore operability, along the way clearing it of metal shavings and dirt.
- The basic task is to replace repair kits (Overol Kit or Master Kit), change clutch kits, steel discs, install new pistons, bushings, and other components.
- The filter and pan gasket are often replaced.
- Attention should also be paid to the oil pump, the failure of which is associated with operation with a broken bushing or dirty oil. Leaking oil seals are generally one of the typical indications of the need for repair.
In addition to replacing parts, welding is characteristic of automatic transmission repair. So, you will need to work with argon during the repair of the torque converter or if the gearbox housing is cracked.
You can apply for an initial consultation by phone if you are interested in complete technical information, and drive up to the repair or maintenance of the automatic transmission at a convenient time for you. If your goal is do-it-yourself repairs, then we can provide information on the availability of suitable spare parts. Otherwise, we advise you to visit any specialized forum on Volkswagen.
Which automatic transmission is installed on your Volkswagen Tuareg is indicated on a plate located on the body or on the automatic transmission itself. By designating these data to our manager when you call, you will be able to receive accurate information on the availability of spare parts and the selection of analogues.
How much the parts cost is a matter of the manufacturer's initial prices they set. The only thing that is the same for an automatic transmission of absolutely any foreign car is that the planetary mechanism (group) is the most expensive element. As for the prices for the installation of new elements on the Volkswagen Tuareg, we provide the price list upon request.
Mandatory overhaul is characteristic. We will help you to select all these details according to the design of the Volkswagen Touareg automatic transmission of a particular year of manufacture.
We always have a set of gearbox repair kits in stock, which you can buy:
- Overhaol Kit - Gaskets, oil seals and o-rings.
- Master Kit - gaskets and friction / steel discs, o-rings.
- Gasket Kit - all gaskets.
- Filter Kit - filter and pan gasket.
- Bushing Kit - a set of bushings.
- Bearing Kit - a set of thrust rolling bearings.
- Banner Kit - gaskets and friction discs, o-rings, oil seals.
- Washer Kit - a set of thrust plain bearings.
- Sealing Ring Kit - a set of o-rings.
- Repair Kit - a set of elements for the repair of a single unit.
By default, we offer original OEM parts from the manufacturer, however, if the client wishes, our specialist will advise which analogs are suitable for solving the problem. We are trying to expand the list of quality, but cheap parts.
In fact, for each automatic transmission, a separate list of running parts has been formed, which do not need to be looked for separately - you can immediately select a running solution. And we provide unique elements for the selected modification on request. Thus, you can buy any type of Volkswagen Tuareg automatic transmission from us.
If the box does not switch, makes noise, sticks, leaks, slips or even kicks (pushes), then it’s up to diagnostics. It can be computerized or mechanical.
During the assessment of the condition of the gearbox, the technician pays attention to the faults that can be seen and heard. The auditory version of the diagnosis is the fastest, the visual and mechanical one is more difficult.
Reading error codes and indiscriminately inspecting the transmission is incomplete. So, we can assume that it is necessary to check the ECU and electrical circuits of the gearbox, clean the sensors from oil, and so on. The main type of automatic transmission diagnostics requires analysis. Subsequently, according to the data obtained, a defect list is drawn up and repairs are carried out without removing the transmission or with removal.
It's great if you can formulate the main symptoms of a malfunction by calling our manager. Additional information on the type of automatic transmission (code) will help to immediately calculate the cost of a possible repair based on the availability of spare parts.
How to pre-check the automatic transmission? List of indirect signs of defects:
- Gear shifting problem: long interval or slippage at increasing rpm.
- Automatic transmission oil flows, getting on the joints of the box or in the engine.
- Oil color: almost black brown oil, there is an emulsion in the liquid, there are bubbles (signs of foaming) or black bloom on the dipstick. One of the above is enough to come for inspection and maintenance.
- Strong burning smell (clutches or "iron" burned out).
- Noise in the gearbox, bumps, jerks.
During the automatic transmission diagnostics, error codes are read on the computer, which must be correctly deciphered. The difficulty lies in the fact that they differ among manufacturers, so that you cannot do without knowing the list of fault designations for Volkswagen cars. This type of diagnosis is basic.
Gearbox maintenance is a planned list of work to replace consumables (automatic transmission filters and transmission fluid). If necessary, minor "repairs" are performed - replace gaskets and oil seals, a set of discs and clutches, a set of solenoids, a brake band, and so on. They also carry out a control check of the gearshift modes, which is included in the diagnostics of the automatic transmission.
But the most important role in the course of maintenance is played by working with automatic transmission transmission oil, since the rate of wear of the system decreases from high-quality oil. If the liquid has darkened, but is still transparent, then you should not change it ahead of time. But if the oil has become cloudy, then we will talk about a partial oil change. A complete replacement of ATF is carried out in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations, while it is necessary to remove the pallet.
It is important to measure at the end of the work oil level in automatic transmission Volkswagen Touareg, since underfilling the liquid threatens to disrupt the pressure in the lines and air the system. In the technical center, when performing this service, by default, they take into account the peculiarities of checking the oil level for the Volkswagen Touareg box, both "cold" and "hot".
Before pouring in a new one oil in the box machine Volkswagen Touareg, you need to decide on his choice. Our specialist will help you with this, who will select the right option for the automatic transmission. At the same time, it is important to focus not on reviews of automatic transmission oils, but on the manufacturer's recommendations.
If the owner has been operating a faulty automatic transmission for a long time, then the level of malfunctions reaches a critical one. And since it is too expensive to replace all the components, it is cheaper to install a new gearbox.
This innovative 6-speed automatic transmission TR60-SN (09D by VAG) Aisin developed and in 2003 launched a series for rear-wheel drive Porsche Cayenne with an engine of 4 liters or more.
Developed concurrently with the first 6-speed automatic transmission for front-wheel drive cars - TF60-SN and has been tested since 2001 on a 2 liter Altezza on Japanese roads.
This transmission was supposed to claim its first place in the world for luxury brands such as Porsche, Audi, Lexus and become a competitor to the new 6-speed ZF6HP transmissions. But it only partially worked out. Audi use 09D for Q7 SUVs with diesel engines from 3 to 4.2 liters, but only on a limited edition and only because it had certain responsibilities. After the release of the German ZF6HP series, Audi completely surrendered to the power of the 6HP26 -32.
But not because the Aisin machine was unsuccessful, but rather because its settings were made with Japanese caution and "undemocratic". The TR60SN claimed to be the leader in the “unkillable” segment and did not allow the car to be pulled out of place with wheel spin, as suggested by the ZF6HP engineers. The TR60-SN was designed for the rich and loyal to their horses, rather than for the rich and easily changing herded horses.
That's why Volkswagen chose her for everyone. Touareg-ov, with engines from 2.7L (diesel) to 6L. The most frequent clients in the repair of childhood diseases with this automatic transmission are Tuaregs 3.2l - 4.2l until 2006. Since 2011 already fulfilled 09D They are also installed on Tiguanas with engines from 2l to 3.6l.
With Aisin's name AW TR-60SN Toyota has been successfully installing since 2007 on powerful (over 4.6L) rear- and all-wheel drive Lexus and Land Cruiser SUVs. There are several sub-modifications of this transmission for its class of torque, differing in planetary gear sets, the number of clutches and steel discs, the size of some units and parts. She was replaced by the 8-speed relative of the TR80-SD.
This transmission was designed by the Japanese Aisin to be "indestructible" like all of its rear-wheel drive automatic transmissions. But each automaker has set up its own TCM (automatic transmission computer) “Democratic”, to give the driver the opportunity to decide for himself with the help of the pedals - to protect the machine or not regretting to burn the clutches and torque converter clutches, pushing the floor of the car with the gas pedal. Volkswagen's computer specialists turned out to be especially “democratic”.
Oil and filter change
The oil filter with a metal mesh - No. 136010 is closed, is not washed out and after 150-200 tkm is often routinely replaced, unless, of course, the clutches have burned out earlier. Included in a typical overhaul order.
Masters recommend installing a main fine filter - 100019 in a pair of this filter. More details - here.
Oil in the box itself includes approx. 9 liters. The rest falls on the radiator. Each car manufacturer uses its own oil and makes all the fine tuning of the TCM and valve body for it. It is recommended to pour just the native oil and make a partial oil change every 40-60 tkm after the end of the warranty. The box can also accept Toyota WS oil - this transmission is not as capricious to oil as the ZF6HP, there is even a reusable filter with a metal mesh.
Parts for bulkhead and overhaul.
Pick up repair kits - press the button on the left.
A complete repair kit for the box bulkhead usually includes: oil filter - 136010, Masterkit - 136007 and a set of bushings - 136030. (below)
Together with the filter for the bulkhead, always order the Repair Kit for gaskets and seals - No. 136002. It is usually ordered for the sake of changing the Teflon rings, which should definitely be replaced in order to save the clutches and the pump with solenoids. If the car has been loaded for a long time with worn out rings, then the friction clutches are on fire and the rubber seals become tanned by the temperature. Repair kits are more often ordered with Precision configurations.
Be sure to hand over the torque converter for repair to replace the worn out clutch lock - 136001.
Overhaul is always accompanied by the replacement of burnt out clutches and steel discs for K1, K2, B1 packages. These bags burn together with the steel discs mainly due to lack of pressure. The reason for this is most often called a clogged valve body, solenoids and bushing seals, and this is expressed in the slippage of packets under load, or delays in engaging gears.
The clutches of 3 packages most often burn: package K1 - 136106 A and with them replace steel discs 136126 A.
In second place in terms of wear are the discs of the package K2 136104 – 136124 .
And brake pack packages IN 1 - 136110 - 136130. Consumables of K3 and B2 packages are changed twice less often. And they change them with the replacement of the entire set of friction discs - No. 136003.
Quite often, for the overhaul of this indestructible box, they order a Complete set of gaskets, clutch oil seals and steel discs - Masterkit 136007. If during disassembly at least 2-3 bushings are "eaten", then they are replaced with the whole set - 136030 in order to extend the guaranteed service life of the machine for several more years.
When repairing valve bodies, the problem was that the Audi-Aisin solenoids were not supplied separately for replacement (until 2013) and a new valve body with solenoids had to be ordered. Sometimes it helps to reverse the solenoids, and this solves the problem. Masters order a set for repairing solenoids Aisin - No. 136419 for the restoration of solenoids.
Currently, for 09D and 09G, adjusted non-original American (Rostra) and Taiwanese solenoids-electric regulators (on the right) have been released, the replacement of which permanently solves the valve body problems and does not require additional equipment for replacement. When troubleshooting the TR-60SN valve body, it usually turns out that the torque converter lock-up solenoid (TCC) - No. 136421 or - 136431 is the first to fail.
The stove also contains 2 more on / off solenoid valves (88 and 89), which do not bother with their problems and, after flushing, work for another period until the next overhaul. ( more about PWM solenoids ).
The valve bodies of the first generations of 6-speed automatic transmissions had quite a few "childhood" diseases. Mainly related to TCM settings. This was manifested by problems in gear shifting after runs approx. 100 tkm. Moreover, the timing of the appearance of problems and their type strongly depended on the settings of the computer and the manner of driving the car. Deterioration and contamination of the solenoids and valves of the hydraulic plate led to abnormal operation of the system and, as a consequence, to the problematic operation of the K1 package, which is responsible for switching from 1st to 4th speed.
TR60-SN has a modified hydraulic plate from the front-wheel drive brother TF60-SN. A few years after the release, the valve bodies were actively modified, reprogrammed, correcting a disease typical of those years: rapid wear of channels, oil leaks, and, as a result, a drop in pressure in the system. Due to the lack of which the bushings and the hardware itself have already suffered.
Hydraulic plates of the first releases (before 2006) were repaired a lot and not very successfully with urgently released Sonnax repair kits for drilling out worn valve body channels and inserting sleeves for new plungers. But this delicate work turned out to be overwhelming for most services. The most complex work on the installation and configuration of the system did not lead to a solution to the problem and the machines soon returned with complaints. Solenoids were not produced for them, namely the solenoids were the first to fail. Basically valve bodies manufactured from 2003 to 2006. after the development of their small (approx. 160-200 tkm) resource, they are simply replaced. Later modifications with timely maintenance work easily for the entire life of the car.
Pallet gasket - No. 136300 must be ordered for every 09D operation.
The set of frequently ordered consumables usually includes the Pump seal (cuff) (# 136070A), and the 136074A shank seal. With a full bulkhead, the bushings are changed with the whole set - 136030.
In the first models, the pump bushing was the weak point. In later modifications of automatic transmission TR-60SN the pump bushings were replaced with bearings and the stator design was slightly changed. They change together with the repair of the torque converter - 136001.
The mechanical part of this automatic transmission from the Japanese Aisin is habitually reliable for all rear-wheel drive cars, and the electrics has all the features inherent in the first 6-speed automatic transmission of 2000-2003, and especially the related TF60-SN ( more details ).
Sometimes the cause of the problem is the wiring of the solenoids - 136446
In age machines, craftsmen often install an external fine filter - 100019,
The inline filter helps keep the oil clean and reduces friction wear. This is especially recommended for all machines that have a standard filter with a metal mesh.
Such a filter, in addition to fine dust from the friction clutches, also retains the adhesive base of the clutch, in the case when the lining is erased to the very base. That protects the solenoids and valve body valves from hanging and wear.
In addition, there is a magnet that retains iron dust and a bypass valve, which is triggered if the filter has not been changed for many years and is completely clogged with dirt. This filter should be changed every year or every 10 tkm. More details - here.
G idroblock 09D for all cars was fundamentally modified at the end of 2005 and computer settings have seriously increased its resource.
Valve plates differ by year of manufacture (before 2005 and after) by additional pressure switches (Pressure Switch - left), as well as the presence of TURBO (Porsche).
Valve bodies for Tuaregs are often repaired. And they also differ in engine power. For Tuareg 4.6l - its own valve plate.
For these automatic transmissions, the masters strongly recommend various measures to improve the cooling of the automatic transmission, for example, the installation of an additional radiator (for some models where the standard radiator cannot cope and the box overheats every summer, it is worth checking the serviceability of the standard thermostat).
Also, aggressive drivers are advised to regularly check the oil and change it as soon as it darkens and loses its transparency.
Japanese cars with this transmission are programmed more accurately, they have enough cooling, and the electronics settings limit the driver's ability to light on mountain roads and successfully protect the oil from overheating over 120 degrees and too rapid wear of the clutch lock.

Hello. Tuareg 2.5 diesel. 300 km.
The problem is this. You stand in a traffic jam and when you switch 1 to 2 with you, a sharp blow, well, it happens, but rarely from 2 to 3. Or it happens that you want to stand abruptly in another row and press the pedal, and the automatic machine thinks for 1.5 seconds and then only switches to a lower one and go. In the morning when I leave for work, everything is the same, that is, what is cold and what is hot. And so 4,5,6 everything switches perfectly.
I stopped by some masters, they said that the brain (in your language, as I understand it, this is the valve body). Since there are no automatic transmission errors at all, and the symptoms are similar to him. What do you say ?! How long do you have to repair the valve body and in time ?! I use the car every day and therefore need a short time. Thank you
Hello, yes, it looks like a valve body, in terms of a day, two, and by appointment. We run it in about a week two, turnkey cost 45t.r
Understood, thank you. I'll be back from vacation and get the car ready for repair.
Good afternoon. 3.2, mileage 230k.when overtaking when switching from 1 to 2 gear, when I sharply press on the gas, the rpm drop and after 2 seconds a sharp jolt and everything is fine, I drove on. oil filter changed recently! basically it all happens hot. there are no mistakes. what could be the problem? in the valve body or torque converter? can you make a diagnosis and how does it generally happen? thanks!
According to the description, it is similar to the valve body, diagnostics are free on weekdays from 9: 00-19: 00, we do a com diagnostics and test drive
or your address! Do you have an appointment or can you just drive up at any time from 9:00 to 19:00?
At any time, Altufevskoe highway 31str1
thanks! I will definitely come
Hello, Tuareg 3.6 mileage is about 250 t.km, the following problem has appeared:
When D or R is turned on and the brake is applied, there is a large load on the engine (they sit too much speed), the car tries to drive
And after a long stay, after starting up, you have to wait a while, since D or R do not turn on right away
The oil is clean, changed 10 t.km ago, the level is normal, no errors
good afternoon, tell me please, I have a question, is it necessary to replace or repair the torque converter when replacing the valve body on the Tuareg? I was simply told that if I replace the valve body after 5 thousand, everything will return and the salenoids will die again. in the car now there is a slight delay between switching 1 and 2, and the revolutions are also floating at a speed of 60 km, and when you brake from 5 to 4, kicks and the brake of the car are felt.
Oil is required when replacing the g / w, but the tightening of the switch is most likely not a hydrobidoke problem.
The automatic transmission valve body or hydraulic valve plate is the gearbox control and the most complex mechanism in it, a bit reminiscent of the human brain with its convolutions. It is a metal plate with milled channels, into which control valves, sets of sensors and solenoids responsible for the operation of the box are installed. The valve block controls the clutch and torque converter lock-up, taking over the role of the clutch pedal and shift lever.
According to a certain program in the control unit, it makes a shift, equalizing the speed of rotation of the gears and including the next gear. It takes an automatic transmission much less time to complete these actions than a person. The computer builds the gearbox control in such a way as to adapt as much as possible to the driving character of the car owner and to ensure the necessary smoothness and fuel economy, while squeezing the required power out of the engine.
The valve body of modern automatic transmissions consists of the plate itself and the electronic control unit. The plate itself is the body and blood vessels of the automatic transmission, the control unit is the brain.
Depending on the manufacturer and the automatic transmission model, the valve bodies have a very different resource. It is not eternal and the detail is broken. Doing it yourself is impossible. Repair of the automatic transmission valve body is not uncommon and it is well mastered by specialists of repair services, it is much better to give your car.
The 09G automatic transmission was developed by the Japanese concern Aisin. Volkswagen engineers took part in the development and adaptation, who, in the Aisin team, customized the 09G with their own hands to various engines. 09G automatic transmissions were installed on Volkswagen Passat B5 and B6, Golf, Jetta, Tuareg, Audi A3 and other cars with engines up to 3.5 liters.
The box itself was not so reliable. On Volkswagen Passat B5, B6 and Taureg cars, this transmission often runs only 50,000-60,000 kilometers before the first serious breakdown. On the 09G automatic transmission, poor heat exchange and the 09G valve body quickly fails due to overheating.
Repaired automatic transmission 09G
Owners of Volkswagen Passat B5, B6 and Tuareg often violate obvious operating rules and overheat the automatic transmission, naively relying on the novelty of the car and German quality.
Because of this, in the Passat B5, B6 and Tuareg, incorrect operation of the automatic transmission may be observed: switching delays, kicks and jerks. On some Passat B5, B6 and Tuareg cars, switching can be accompanied by noticeable wheel slip, even at a decent speed.
Slippage and emergency modes of automatic transmission on Passat b6 and Tuareg can also be associated with incorrect operation of sensors and electrics. Oftentimes, whole wiring harnesses are damaged in this transmission. With poor contact of the valve body with some automatic transmission sensors on the Passat B6 and Tuareg, frightening behavior of the box can be observed, which, fortunately, does not require replacing the gearbox mechanisms.
In case of trouble with the Passat b6 and Tuareg box, it is worth starting with an oil change, which you can do yourself. At the time of diagnostic procedures, when the first signs of a breakdown appear, it is better not to drive the car, but immediately take it to the service. If there are no options and the machine is needed for some time, then switching to manual mode may be a temporary solution.
If instead of oil in the box there is black slurry that has not changed for 120,000 kilometers, the Passat and Tuareg boxes simply will not work normally. If it's not about the oil, then everything, of course, is sadder. If the oil has been changed recently, then it should not be changed. For Tuareg and Passat, this procedure is not cheap at all.
Prices for repairing the Passat and Tuareg valve body start from 35,000-50,000 rubles. Replacing an old one with a new one will cost about twice as much. It is possible to determine the cause of the malfunction only in the service; complex diagnostics may be needed, for example, at the stand Valve Body Hydro Test.
You can extend the life of the box on the Passat and Tuareg as follows:
- Monitor the condition of the oil and change it in a timely manner;
- Always ride only a heated box;
- In traffic jams, switch to manual mode for the second speed. That will save the box from endless gear changes and dangerous overheating.
