An internal lock with an internal handle is pulled out of the door.

The plastic holder is rotated and the end of the lock blocking rod is pulled out of the lever.

The outer handle of the lock door is removed with rods.
The pin is pulled out and the plastic rod end is removed from the lock cylinder.
The slots on the handle and the lock cylinder are freed from the locking spring.
With the key inserted into the device, the lock is removed from the handle.
The new lock is installed in the reverse order.

Tip: Before installing a new lock on the door of a VAZ 2109 car, it is necessary to lubricate all rubbing surfaces with grease.

If the lock is difficult to open, you need to adjust it.
Sanding a new fur coat. The primer applied on top of the door must be sanded with P120 sandpaper, until bare metal appears.
A part is removed from the old shell where the elastic is attached. This can be done by drilling out the welding spots or cleaning the welding spots with a grinder, followed by removing this part of the door.
The frame for attaching the elastic band is cleaned. The surface should be as clean as possible.

Before final tightening of the bolts securing the hinges to the A-pillar, close the door and adjust its position so that the gaps in the openings around the entire perimeter are the same.

Then carefully open the door and finally tighten the hinge bolts.

Door locks are non-separable and cannot be repaired. If the door locks are broken, replace them.
The design of the locks of the front doors of all cars and the rear doors of the VAZ 2109 and VAZ 21099 cars is fundamentally the same, the main difference between the locks is that the lock switch cylinders are installed in the outer handles of the front doors, therefore, this subsection shows the process of repairing the front door lock as more complicated.

1. Squeeze out the bottom seal and remove the three clip-on clips from the top and one from the bottom. Remove the protective film from the door.

2. Disconnect the outside handle pull rods and the lock switch from the inner lock.

3. Remove the two screws securing the door lock. Since the thread of the screws is covered with sealant, we recommend using an impact screwdriver when loosening.

4. Remove the outer door lock.

5. Remove the two screws securing the inner door lock handle.

6. Push the inner handle into the door.

7. Remove the inner lock with the inner handle from the door.

8. Remove the rubber holder from the end of the rod. Remove the tie handle by turning it.

9. Remove the retaining clip from the lever pin and disconnect the inner handle link from the inner lock lever.

10. Rotate the plastic holder and remove the end of the lock interlock rod from the lever.

11. Remove the two nuts securing the outside handle of the lock.

12. Remove the outer handle of the lock door with rods.

13. Remove the pin and remove the plastic tie rod from the door lock cylinder.

14. Remove the retaining spring by pulling its ends out of the slots on the cylinder and on the lock handle.

15. Insert the key into the lock cylinder and remove the lock from the handle.
16. Install a new door lock on the car VAZ 2108, VAZ 2109, VAZ 21099 in the reverse order of removal, having previously lubricated all rubbing parts with grease. Check the ease of opening and tightness of the door lock. Adjust the door lock if necessary.

17. To adjust the door lock, loosen the fastening screws and move the catch:
a) outside, if the door is tightly closed;
b) inside, if the door does not close tightly;
c) down, if the door rises when closing. After adjusting the door lock, tighten the screws. Use an impact screwdriver to loosen and tighten the screws.

USEFUL ADVICE
If it is necessary to remove the retainer, first trace its outline on the body pillar. During installation, this will help keep the door lock adjustment.

One way to align doors is by using a bolt. For this:

The bolt is the same size as the pin.
The element is placed with its head upwards on the lower door hinge from the inside. In this case, part of the bolt should hang at the edge of the hinge.
The door is closed gently and the bolt remains clamped inside the hinge.
The door then quietly closes and the result is recorded.
The operation is repeated if necessary.

There is a special instruction for repairing a door when it sags, when the gap between the doors and the car body has increased. For this:

The door is removed, its trim is removed.
A longitudinal cut is made in the lower loop with the help of a small grinder.
The rest of the finger is knocked out with a core.

Tip: When replacing a finger in the VAZ2109 door hinges, you can use the valve of a VAZ classic car, without internal filling.

Using a hammer, the canopy is squeezed over the valve stem.

Before converting the VAZ 2109 model, the first thing to take care of is strengthening the places under the wings, on which the doors will be fastened. This is indispensable, since the initial thickness of the metal is not enough.

To install lambo doors, you will need special hinges. They can be purchased from a specialist store or you can make your own. If you prefer to do everything yourself, then you will need powerful shock absorbers (you can borrow them from minibuses in which they provide the opening of the tailgate). In addition to them, you need the same devices from the Moskvich. They should be installed from above, and more powerful ones - from below, since they will take on the main load. As a result, the doors will function properly.

During installation, it is necessary to make sure that in the closed position the door lies flat against the seals, and when opened it could not damage the skin and body.

There is one more nuance: the integrity of the wings of the car can be ensured only by cutting off a certain part of the rack, which will definitely need to be strengthened. To do this, it will be enough to weld a channel with a thickness of at least 3 mm to it.

There are several ways to fix the hinges to the body: using a bolted or welded joint. After that, they should be adjusted using movable bolts.

It is much easier and more reliable to use ready-made kits, but whichever method you choose, the result is the same - you will get an original car that stands out from the mass of similar stamped models.

Now there are still quite a few VAZ 2109-2108 cars that have a mechanical window regulator design. And in this article I will try to give step-by-step instructions for replacing this mechanism. First, we need the following tool:

Socket head for 8 and 10
Extension
Ratchet handle or crank

Secondly, it should be borne in mind that it will first be necessary to remove the front door trim. After that, we take the key and unscrew the fastening nuts of the mechanism. First, there are three pieces, which are shown in the photo below:

Then two more on the other side:

Then another one, which is at the very bottom:

And it remains to unscrew the two bolts that attach the mechanism to the very glass of the front door of the VAZ 2109-2108. All this is shown more clearly in the photo below:

After that, you can lower the glass or raise it by hand, and this is necessary in order to find a convenient position for dismantling the mechanism. It is necessary to push the spline shaft inside, pushing the bar through the hole with a certain force:

Then take it as far to the left as possible (for the driver's door), that is, so that most of it is in the hole, as shown in the picture below:

And finally, you can take it out of the door, doing it carefully, pushing aside the rods of the locks that will interfere.
